Besides, the school could use the kid like a fucking mascot, or the pictures were photo shopped.

Well, we need to figure out how to get into the other rooms. Maybe the scene of the crime is in one!

[ How lifelike does he think this will get...? ]

[ Izuku practically bounces over to said door, considering the numbers. A low murmur starts up from where he's at as he works through the possibilities... ]

[For all the years of practice he's had dealing with that murmur, you'd think he'd be able to tune it out. But NOPE! Gritting his teeth he starts inspecting the rest of the room. A few pictures, a ghost kid, books on their shelves, two light switches, and a key. Hm.]

Not a lot to go on.

That just means we need to locate more clues!

[ At least when he's talking-talking he mumbles less? ]

[He's found that out too. Now he's heading back into Izuku's first room to take a look there and see if there's anything he overlooked.]

You didn't find anything inside your books did you?

Mm, no. But maybe there's a code to the titles in there?

[ He's still considering number combos, but he has a good idea... ]

[Katsuki gathers up Izuku's books and takes them to his room. Then comes back to Izuku with all the books balanced in two stacks. Before setting them on the floor and checking through their spines. Spell anything out? Hm...]

I'll see what I can piece together here.

[ Izuku nods with a half distracted sort of look. The other door might have an alphanumeric lock?

He finally decides to input the code based on where the same student is in each picture. ]

We can do it!

[Katsuki starts running through options, going from the first letter of each spine to which letter's most common to the last letter or number of words.]

Less cheering, more working.

[And goes to check on the second door for its type of lock.]

[ He can multitask being cheerful and working! Izuku's lock comes undone (...on his second combo try) and he beams. ]

Now we're tied for doors!

[Katsuki scowls at the door in front of him. Big ass combination lock. Well... not the worst thing, but... hm... he has an idea. Back to the books.]

[ So competitive, Kacchan. Izuku glances into his room, but pauses to wait and see Katsuki's moment of triumph because he figures the other boy wants to gloat a bit. ]

[On the good news, Katsuki does indeed land a right combination. Taking the first letters of each title gets a pool of five letters. ("T" is there a lot.) Turning those into numbers via their placement in the alphabet gets a 5 number combo, which when entered into the lock, pops the door open once the final turn lifts the tumbler.

On the bad news, he's too intent on winning to waste time gloating, so pushes into the next room with determined focus.]

[ Izuku follows, simply figuring it'll be more fun to explore the rooms together than separately. ]

Looks like they've come out into...an entertaining room, but old fashioned. Lots of seating and still the same spooky lighting and decor. There's a telephone, lots of things to move around... ]

Oh look, a grand foyer. He makes a face cause it reminds him of the rare times his mother's dragged him to a social party.
