[It's important to Izuku to have Katsuki in there, much to his annoyance, so if that's the case, then it's important to Katsuki that Izuku's not doing something stupid in the photo!]

[ Awww. Izuku definitely looks touched, better look away immediately and pretend it's not happening. ]

Okay, okay, no funny faces, I promise.

[The fuck'd he say? Katsuki's ignoring that crap.]

[Snap the fucking shot so they can move on!]

[ Once they're at the scoreboard there are some signs they can use to take the picture - little phrases, that sort of thing. Izuku picks one and threads his arm through Katsuki's, testing the other boy's patience as he grins. ]

[Hell no! Katsuki disentangles his arm from Izuku's and instead crosses his arms over his chest, standing at the sign beside the other boy (at least) and flicking the score (or those below their score) off. Complete with a trash face grin. Hey, they still fucking escaped, so screw off!]

[ Ah...yeah, he kind of already figured out a date doesn't mean physical contact, but he still looks a hair put out by it. He doesn't make the All Might face though! ]

[There's a difference between physical contact on a date and physical contact going on a picture that's going on a website (likely) that everyone'll see.

Still, at least he agreed to get a picture together?]

[ It's very lucky Izuku doesn't know the difference or he would in fact look more than a bit depressed in the picture. He still smiles of course, it's just one of his "I'm smiling so other people don't worry or get upset" variety of smiles.

He still does pay for a copy of it anyway though. ]

[Katsuki glances at the pictures. He notes Izuku's smile, but says nothing about it. If they went back and redid it, Deku'd be wearing another false smile, this one worn to try and placate Katsuki's attempt to get a real smile.

God, Deku can be so fucking difficult.

Katsuki pays for a copy as well.]

[ That's the problem with going out with someone who got pretty much zero positive physical contact for the majority of his life outside of his mom. Izuku wants the contact but is usually used to not getting it; he's already bouncing back at least because it's not really a shock. ]

Ready for the next one? [ Which we can handwave the next two and skip to dinner if you like ]

[Katsuki's used to the whole thing. That's the other problem dating someone who's prickly and not open-hearted enough to let himself be glomped on by the touch starved person over there.

They're a shit pair.]

[If they get the top score on one of those, Izuku's gonna be able to get a brilliant "TAKE THAT!!" grin from Katsuki.

[ That's extremely kind of Katsuki but Izuku doesn't try to touch him again for the next picture. He just throws out a peace sign and a smile, and seems happy enough that Katsuki was grinning in it. He doesn't want to make Katsuki uncomfortable or anything, and he's been shaken off twice so he's trying to tone it down a few notches. ]

[He won't offer more than to stand within arm's length of him. Still gets a cocky pose from him because they fucking wasted the second trial. First fucking place, assholes! Third one... they didn't even place. No one had. So at least that was... something. Maybe it's not placeable.

Anyways, Katsuki's having fun by the second one!]

[ After they're entirely done, the plan was dinner - which Katsuki was supposed to plan and pay for, so Izuku has no idea where they're actually going but he's not a very picky eater, so. ]

[Katsuki heads out the door, hands slumping into his pockets as he walks beside the other boy. It's a while of silence.]

I had fun. Good choice.

[ Izuku's ended up with his hands in his jeans pockets, and he almost jumps when addressed, but then offers up a little smile. ]

I'm glad! Are we still planning on dinner? Or did you want to go home?

[Katsuki glances up to the sky, checking the time. Still plenty of light.]

Why would we go home? Going out to dinner's part of the date.

Just if you wanted to. [ Like, got tired of hanging out. ] Um, where are we going?

There's a sushi restaurant that floats your plates down a river. Or a cafe that has fish swimming under the floor.

[No hero cafes, so he opted for a water theme.]

Oh, whatever you prefer is fine, Kacchan. I already picked the activity.

[ So someplace that won't be too busy without reservations would be good... ]

I did pick. You're the tie breaker.

[And who says they don't have reservations...]

Um...whichever is cheaper? So not the sushi.

[ Not like money is a huge concern here, but he's automatically trying to pick whatever puts Katsuki out the least. ]

[Katsuki ignores the reason for it and accepts the decision. Could've kept that to himself... but whatever. Izuku's gonna make it clear as fuck he doesn't hold himself in high worth.]

[ Honestly, he would have had a harder time if the options were more "place with Katsudon, place without Katsudon". He doesn't particularly have a preference between two types of water features.

But yeah, he also just doesn't really think his preference is super important. Katsuki's more likely to ditch than Izuku if unhappy. ]
