The telephone will ring before Katsuki gets there...a prerecorded message with more of the story. ]

[Does he find any change? Cushions are notorious for pulling things from people's pockets.

Katsuki blinks at the phone, a quiet "eh?" and freeze for a second occurring. But almost immediately chills and picks up the phone.]

[ I should have written down a plot but really I'm just wildly making things up instead, as I sometimes do...

Remember, Katsuki: the employees have to watch so they can give hints if asked and trigger anything important.

Anyway - it's one of the party guests, and if he's careful to catch the names and information he'll be able to put down who arrived in what order at least? ]

Fuck off! He's not going to ask for help! He's doggedly determined to do this on his own! Besides, asking for help disqualifies you from getting slotted for a high score.

Katsuki does pay attention to the names and writes them down, then sets the order numerically behind them.]

What were the names of the guests again? It might be theirs.

[ He's reasonably sure it's not "real". ]

Do you see a name on the wallet, initials, anything inside it? There's no point reading the names if that thing's got no identification.

[Slowly Katsuki's desire to win best time is being eaten by a desire to solve the puzzle, so at least there's that.]

There's some fake credits and a few pictures, but no one I recognize yet.

[Katsuki starts reading out the names from his list. All the guests and when they arrived. Would the real S.K. please stand up?]

If the people in the pictures are similar, maybe this was some class reunion or school reunion.

Ah...! That could make sense. If so, maybe we should check the latest grad picture...?

[ Sounds like there's two S.K. names. Both sound vaguely not Japanese. ]

[A foreigner! Whoa. Katsuki heads for the graduation pictures again, trying to get the best light to study them. Anyone there who doesn't look of Japanese descent? Or at least obviously foreign.

He's also looking for anyone who... you know... looks like Deku in their school pictures. Like there's some "you don't belong" aura around them.]

[ Well, they are in a place where a lot of the natives seem not to be Japanese. But besides the guy who's some kind of not human...

There's definitely someone being left out of the fun in most of the pics. A different person in each, but a similar set of circumstances. Weird! ]

[Katsuki's noticed that as well. It's strange that so many of them seem to have a similarity. Plus so many of them come from some alternate Earth. It's weird.

So they have vampire ghost boy. And then a singled out person, but not the same person each time. Hm... It's likely impossible to tell names in the pictures...]

You notice anything weird about these people?

[And points out the loners.]

[ Izuku glances at the pictures, stopping his search to gnaw at his lip.

They look... ]

Um, it looks like no one else really likes them.

Or they could be loners by choice.

None of them are the ghost kid; that's the suck part.

No, look, none of them look happy. And they're all sort of - er, it's body language.

[ He doesn't want to say they're nerdy. ]

That "ghost kid" looks like the opposite. Kinda popular.

This murder mystery better not have a fucking moral... Normally it's the nerdy kid that murders all their classmates at the reunion party.

[ If they're thinking the ghost kid does bad things. ]

Weird ghost.

[Picking off the unpopular ones when the unpopular ones are usually the ones making the ghosts. Popular people didn't have the same "revenge" motives as what you hear about in urban legends and folklore. Well, minus the stupid ones that summon a demon to get a good spot on the team or something...]

Lets go.

[Two rooms with book puzzles, one room with picture puzzles and a list of people on the phone. So the fourth room should have new data or something binding the previous clues.]

[ This one...looks more like a personal study. There's pictures on shelves, a computer, and a collection of odd items. ]

[Katsuki immediately goes to the collection of items and sics Izuku on the pictures.]

See if there's any correlation between those pictures and the graduation shots.

[Are there any matching books in this study and the ones in the first two rooms?]

[ No matching books. Instead of murder mysteries, these ones are all informational nonfiction books.
