I wasn't...! You're just being overly sensitive to it 'cause you don't want anyone to hear. [ Izuku guesses, anyway. He still has the bowl and follows Katsuki, apparently determined to give it to him. ]

I know it doesn't exactly match up, but it's April 20th here...and I thought, maybe, if you didn't have plans, we could hang out and watch movies tonight?

[ He's not sure who Katsuki would have plans with, but Izuku isn't going to assume he hasn't made any. ]

Urusei. It's too early to be making this much noise. [Grumble. This is why he gets up early. Cause most people aren't up and he can do his stuff in silence. Katsuki sat down on the bed so Izuku would have an easier time with the bowl.

He looks up at him as he talks, resting one ankle over his knee and his arms on his crossed lower leg. Well, being so new here, there aren't many "plans" in his head at all.]

I've got nothing all day. You gonna sit or not?

[ Izuku manages to brighten up further from cheerful to something truly monstrous as he takes a seat, offering Katsuki the bowl and utensils again. ]

I figured you wouldn't want the whole day, though I'm free if you do. I got snacks in case you wanted to do the movie thing though, including these chips that are I guess hot enough people do challenges with them? It sounded like something you'd like.

[Oh god. It's too early in the morning for the full blast of the fucking sun. Katsuki leans away slightly, a very "UGH" face tugging across his scowl. But he takes the bowl when offered and swipes the chopsticks with an easy motions.]

I said I got nothing. Whaddya wanna do?

[He doesn't usually eat this early, preferring to finish his workout and then clean up before breakfast. But whatever. He hums in mild surprise that the food's pretty good actually. Not that he completely doubted Izuku, but you know... Izuku.]

So long as you don't get a massive fucking cake, fine. Did you eat already?

No...I got cupcakes though.

[ About the cake. He figured if Katsuki didn't want them they could be handed out generically for no reason to other people? Izuku wasn't sure what Katsuki would be cool with but knows he doesn't like sweets that much. ]

And, um, I made myself some when I cooked! [ And ate separate like a dork who wasn't sure about his welcome. ]

[Katsuki'll just give Izuku the majority of that swirly sugar tower. He knows the other boy'll like the sweets. He'll stick with the cake part and some frosting. Not anti-sweets or anything, just isn't too fond of the intense sweetness in things. He likes popsicles? Even if he has the misfortune and bad habit of letting them melt too much and fall off the stick before he's done...]

Ah. [Wasn't gonna let Izuku go hungry just to make him food. He'd've stuffed some in his mouth before he could protest.]

[ Izuku loves frosting, it's fine. Double frosting is better than no frosting or single frosting! He's...remembering Katsuki shoving frosting onto his slices of things a lot, though it never happened. ]

Anyway, I'd normally say we could marathon All Might movies, but since there aren't any, I picked up a lot of action movies? Since, well, it's the best genre otherwise...

[Where does he burn all those calories and sugars? Katsuki has some memories of Izuku making cupcake sandwiches with the extra frosting. He doesn't doubt those for a second if life had been different. Not that he thinks Izuku wouldn't do that with a cupcake normally.]

Sounds good. Wonder if there's a way to somehow get All Might movies... The quests have rewards and shit.

[Who knows. RPGs sometimes have wishes to make.]

If we do, I'm getting All Might stuff immediately. Although...well, yeah, no, that. I mean, I don't think I need anything else practical item wise.

[ Izuku says like if it was a choice between merch and his hero gear he wouldn't pick merch...depending on the merch. ]

[If he sees Izuku waffling between a proposed All Might figure and getting an upgrade to his costume's gauntlets, he's going to smack him upside the head and give him a side-eye glare.

[ He has no All Might merch right now, and he has his uniform he showed up in...so the merch would be better! ]

Uwaa...well, I guess it's just speculation now. But, um!! So...yeah, that was what I had planned. Movie marathon and...well, offering to hang out and do whatever you wanted. There's lots of stuff in the city to do, and I knew you wouldn't want me to tell anyone or set up anything really fancy, but...

[That's hard to argue with emotionally. Logically, it's simple, but... They can get armor from this world! They can't get All Might from this world with any regularity!

Well...yes, and no. [ Katsuki's memories might suggest things, but Izuku's been wandering around himself, so he does know more... ]

There's always the beach, although there's lots of crabs right now and the weather is, uh, not the kind of weather you'd use for like, swimming and such. Or arcades are indoors...I went with a few people last month to that. Then actual movie theaters...or I think there's an indoor rock climbing wall, but that might be too easy for you?

[They will, when he's not so focused on the here and now. That kind of trumps his Duocaeli memories. Like pushing through fog to reality.]

Arcade and rock climbing sound good. [He wants to test the place out for himself rather than accepting "other" Katsuki already did it. Reality, again.]

Sure! Wherever you want. I mean, you can pick a genre of food and then I can offer recommendations...? I don't eat out a lot but I have part time shifts at a bunch of places.

[ He's just idly kept those up in synch with his fake life since he likes having spending money. ]

[The emphasis makes it suspicious and Katsuki eyes him, but says nothing. Izuku'll burn through whatever he eats without a problem.]

All right. I'll think about it during the day.

[It's hard to think of a restaurant to go to when he's currently eating a breakfast bowl.]

These other memories we have... How much faith do you put in them?

Depends on what you mean. They're obviously not real, but...they do seem to have my tastes down pretty well when it comes to places I go and enjoy or things I see and enjoy. I've been double checking them as I go, but you know, like - I don't know, I guess I just take them as a sort of guidebook brochure...?

[ Also, the emphasis was not suspicious. Izuku usually eats at Dodo house and doesn't eat out a lot - but he's got a bunch of part time jobs so he's been around the food places a few times and eaten at work once or twice, or just taste-tested things so he can do the menu better. ]

[Maybe he said it wrong, but Izuku answered what he was really trying to ask. How the other boy handled the memories and how he thought about them.]

They fucking piss me off. Feeling like I've lived a double life, one that's not my own. But...

[The happiness that's in those memories, the completely difference of his life in many ways better than the life he's lived, is impossible to ignore. It rankles his guilt and regret in ways that's hard to convey. Shit he won't bring to verbal light.]

Nothing I can do about it.

Mm...I don't know if they make me angry. [ On the one hand, it's totally weird. On the other - there's something nice about memories of Katsuki that are just a little bit bittersweet "what ifs". Izuku recognizes something of them both in those, and it's...kind of like a movie? A movie he doesn't mind seeing sometimes. ]

I think, if I have to remember things that didn't happen...these memories aren't so bad for that?

Either they make you angry or they don't. It's not hard to tell.

[Katsuki has similar responses to the memories. The "nice" feeling that comes from knowing there's at least one reality where Izuku didn't have to go through what he did. But the feeling never lasts. The weight of reality comes back and he has to push the "what if" to the side, lest it become some kind of trap he has to drag out from.]

Tch. They're not "bad", but they're not me. Feels like I'm watching someone else's life.

[Someone that he's occasionally envious of, and that's a very uncomfortable feeling.]

W-well, yeah...I mean...I guess it's just, if I have to have fake memories...I'd rather them be something pleasant? I don't want "trauma" from another life I didn't live?

[ That just seems like it would be stressful, so. He'll take the happy stuff, sad as it sometimes can be. ]

[It makes sense. Katsuki finishes the food. There's a quiet "thank you for the meal" that mingles with the soft clink of chopsticks on the rim of the bowl before the blonde stands up.]

I'm gonna wash off and get ready.

[Is it still raining out?]

[ We'll say...probably? Not storming, but sprinkling/showering. Izuku's going to have to grab a raincoat and an umbrella. ]

Okay, I'll take the dishes back and then get ready myself!

[Ugh, still wet. Katsuki scowls at it as he sets the bowl down on his desk.

A raincoat and umbrella are a good idea.]

I'll be 45 minutes.

Okay! I'll grab a shower too, then.

[ Not like he's been working out, but he did fall asleep early last night and wake up early, too. ]
