[One of those yells that's exasperated and alarmed at the same time. Katsuki ends up halfway stretched out, braced on one foot and stretching a hand out to grab Izuku by the shirt to stop him from falling into the gully.

Though now they're in some kind of weird perfect balance game... like two people in a / \ position over a gully full of water.

[ Yeah, they look stupid right now. Izuku at least doesn't flail them in, although he looks completely abashed as he realizes what happened.

Thankfully Katsuki's reflexes are second to none. ]

Uh - [ Now how to get...out of this. ]

[You look stupid! He looks... uh.. TRYING TO AVERT A MESS!! (Aka: stupid.)

Katsuki's reflexes might be amazing, but his toes aren't capable of digging into the ground like claws and the ground is pretty fucking wet right now...]

That's exactly what I just -

[ Why is Katsuki like this! Izuku cuts himself off before they start bickering while in this position (they can bicker AFTER, he figures) and lets Katsuki take charge.

On three, he jumps. ]

[Flashbacks to Katsuki during his rescue, yelling at his rescuers for not listening to him trying to pilot his own rescue. Go figure. His ego is a crime and it's not dead yet. Won't ever be.

Ha! Bicker when he's failed!

Katsuki hauls back when Izuku jumps, instinctively igniting his Quirk for extra oomph. It does balls due to not being in the Dodo house, but that pisses Katsuki off and the rage boost probably gives its own benefit. Over Izuku goes, clearing the gully and landing in a weird Victorian era waltz with Katsuki. One of those close-holding twists to keep center balance and stuff.

But they're over.]

Why didn't you jump the first time?! You could've cleared that easily!

[ Izuku keeps hold of Katsuki's hand for a moment, mostly because he just got done being hauled over and he looks even more embarrassed. ]

I...tried to Float...

[ Just like Katsuki tried to explode on automatic, Izuku fell into a similar trap. ]

[He... should've predicted that answer. Katsuki tilts his head to the side, almost like he's thinking about his response, then snorts in annoyance. Not at Izuku, but more at the world around them.]

This fucking place...

[Case in point. He lets go of Izuku's hand after making sure the other boy's stable again. Preferably without a shoe in a puddle or something.]

Stick to the sidewalk. Lets got outta the road.

Right! [ No complaints. Izuku's arms got a bit wet from the spray but he doesn't seem to mind. He does keep his eyes down more to watch his step now, though. ]

At least the plants are gonna be happy.

[Katsuki waits until they're at the sidewalk and comfortably away from the larger puddles before he grabs Izuku's arm and hauls it over.]

Keep your eyes on the sidewalk.

[Mostly so he doesn't step into a puddle. While Katsuki starts to focus. This is something he threw himself into learning (forced learning) the past week, so it's still new.

He's working to suck the moisture out of Izuku's clothes and off his arms.]

[ Since they're in the offworld and outside of the house...that probably won't be working, but they're still figuring that part out. It's a nice thought, though? ]

I know...If we're lucky we'll get there without me falling into a puddle! [ Luck shouldn't come into it. ]

Oh the annoyance (AND IRONY) of having to be "normal" for stretches of times. Once he realizes he can't do that, Katsuki immediately lets Izuku's arm go and pretends he'd only been inspecting someone on his sleeve.]

How about you focus on walking and coordination and luck won't mean shit.

[ Izuku figured Katsuki had been balancing him for a minute or two because he wasn't trusted to walk properly, if it helps. ]

I-I'll do that...I don't want to make you spend your birthday with me getting bandaged up or something, that wouldn't be fun at all.

[It helps. He goes back to holding the umbrella in his right hand. Tsk. On world. Off world. Off world but in a special place. Two out of three areas he's still got his Quirk and powers.]

You have to consciously have someone tell you to do that?

Well, no. But...if I'm being totally honest, it's easier to be reckless or worry less about getting hurt if I'm alone or no one really knows me?

[ He's not like, actively trying to hurt himself. But now he has that "if I get hurt, Kacchan will be annoyed at me" limiter. ]

[It really sucks that it's raining, because Katsuki would've smacked him right upside the back of his fluffy head for saying that shit.]

If you know that, why don't you fucking curb it even if you're alone?

It's...I don't really care about it if it just comes down to me.

[ Katsuki knows that. He's always hated and feared it, but... ]

Not if it's a choice between me and someone else, and I guess - I just don't worry about it.

Care about yourself more, dammit! Sacrificing yourself should be a last resort.

[He does hate and fear that reality, so he won't stop trying to yell Izuku out of the mindset. While Katsuki's willing to sacrifice, like any hero should be, he also believes the best heroes would never be in a position where sacrifice is necessary.

Because said hero would've already triumphed over the threat before it came down to that.]

[ It's so weird hearing Katsuki say these kinds of things, but it's a good sort of weird and Izuku doesn't want to draw too much attention to it and cause Katsuki to stop because of it... ]

I'm trying. It's just, ah, easier doing it for someone else.

[Fancy that. He's complimenting Izuku under the guise of irritably chiding him. How's that for ironic coincidence?]

[Yeah well, Iida isn't here to give those things and Katsuki's more mature now. He can occasionally say those things. Couched in reprimands.]

Hmph. [Hey, All Might is his idol too.] He's not here to tell you that.

[ It was kind of a compliment. Katsuki once got mad when Izuku told him he wasn't saying something very All Might in class. ]

I know. I just mean...you really sound like a hero right now, Kacchan.

[He says things that aren't very All Might pretty frequently. But there are times...]

[Katsuki finally goes quiet and accepts it. Then shuffles his shoulders and pushes his hands into his pockets, done with the feel-good moment.]
