"Like hell they did!" he snarls back, more at the task leads than Kise.

"Hmph!" Not happy with getting dragged to a damn gala, Bakugo shoves his hands on his hips, arms a bit wider due to the grenade-shaped bracers on his forearms. "I didn't need a report." Fundraiser is fundraiser. Always some kind of support going on by its very nature. While plenty of heroes have gone to fundraisers in the past, their presence either being for the event or to protect it, Bakugo's never liked the idea of showing up like some stupid publicity stunt.

He'll compromise by sticking around and making sure Kise is safe, but he's not gonna be sitting at a table in full costume eating dinner with everyone else. Especially if three of the blonde's athlete friends are gonna be inhaling food like a damn train rush.

"I haven't heard anything. If there's a development, the police will tell us. Any asshole trying to crash this is gonna get slaughtered." By him. He heads inside with Kise, then starts working on unlocking and collapsing his bracers for the time being. Before he whacks someone with the trigger lever.

And yet, Kise was the one getting actually snarled at. Ah, well, nothing he's not used to.

"Well, now you know if anyone asks you about it later." Which is always helpful. Being at an event and not knowing what it's about never looks good. Kise and Akashi are often at events like this, Akashi because of who his father is, and Kise because he's a well known face already. It is a publcity stunt for them, and the heroes who are there for the event rather than doing security for it. But it is important. Villains aren't attacking twenty-four/seven so heroes have to do something with their down time, otherwise why pay them?

And unfortunately for Bakugou, he will be around three athletes inhaling food like blackholes, they just won't be sitting down. Well, he won't. Aomine has been known to sit on the damn floor even in a suit.

"Right, slaughtered." Maybe that wasn't the right choice of words.

He has to know it's not meant for him. Or next time, he'll get Bakugo in on the call so he can snarl at the orders first.

"Why the hell is anyone going to ask me about it?" Because they definitely will, and he'll yell at them for being nosy and he just wants to go to bed, dammit! Or whenever they end up meeting him. Could get back after everyone's gone to sleep. knowing what the event's about isn't gonna help him asides from cluing in what any interlopers might be here for.

As for what heroes do on their downtime... A LOT?! Bakugo certainly wouldn't put charity events and advertisements on his list of things to do while not being on active duty. He'd rather go get a CD or clean the apartment or do something constructive. Anyways, if something does happen here, he'll take care of it instantly.

Bakugo's with Aomine on this one; he'll pop a gremlin squat in a suit and glare at people without giving a shit to their opinion or feeling on the matter.

"Are we gonna have to sit through speeches?"

It's not like Kise knew who did these things! He just showed up, did his job, and left.

"Because you were here," Kise said. Of course, they would. It was a big event after the War and a sign that things were going back to normal.

And yeah, he knows that. Knowing them both, in every sense of the word, he would expect them to get along like a house on fire. And being absolutely mannerless at the gala.

"No," he said, and he was glad because speeches bored him and put him to sleep. "It'll just be a lot of socializing, which we don't have to." He wouldn't, anyway. He'd mostly hang with the other Miracles.

Look into your point of contact a bit more, dammit! You're not some pretty shitty robot who operates on point and click. So Bakugo would hope Kise thinks. He knows plenty of people like to simply follow directions and not think.

"They can keep their damn mouths shut." Bakugo's not here for aimless chitchatting about things he knows a lot of people are so damn eager to talk to him about. The war, All Might, Deku, All for One, Shigaraki, repairs, One for All, and everything else surrounding the war. Crap table topics for a charity gala.

"Good." Because if speeches happened, he'd grab Kise and leave the venue. Bakugo shoots Kise a look when he says they don't have to do any kind of socializing. "Then why are we here?" Unless it's nothing more than Kise to show up, look pretty, not say a word, and leave. They could've done that through the window!

Oh look, here comes a trio of people eager to talk. RIP their skulking.

Look, Kise doesn't put energy into things like thinking. He's not that smart to begin with. He has agents to think for him! Most of this thought process was dedicated to basketball and improving there, since that was the part of his life he actually paid attention. Okay, he also paid attention to his family and friends.

He was basically the Kaminari of the modeling world, only prettier, taller, and with a bigger dick. (Actually, Kaminari might be smarter.)

"You know they won't," Kise said. "It's smarter to be nice to people." Not that he was nice, per se, but he was at least civil until he got pissed off.

"We're here to look pretty for the cameras for an hour, then we can hide," he said. Once he saw the trio of people eager to talk, he turned up the charm and made small talk.

"Oh, I've known Dynamight a while," Kise said when one of them asked about his escort. "I've modeled his parents' clothesline; I met him at a fitting."

That's not giving him any positive points with Bakugo, who holds himself and other people to very high expectations. But it also fits, because three of the four students who hung around him the most during his first year at U.A. were among the worst grades in class. Why the hell does he attract academically stupid people?!

(And yes, Kise reminds him a fair bit of Kaminari in several ways. As for smarter... Look, Dunce Face worried about operating a literally "point and click" piece of hero gear because it'd make him have to think more. Coin toss. You two can go try to out-stupid each other on your own time. Die.)

Guess being a great hero and an amazing athlete can carry someone if their academics can't. Bakugo would never accept that himself. He likes being the best in everything. Even if Kise can outplay him in basketball well enough.

"Then I'll shut it for them!" So violent. Bakugo's not gonna be nice to someone who pisses him off! And so many people piss him off so easily, so is he ever nice to anyone? ... He's nice(ish) to Kise?

"I'm not hiding. I'm leaving." Don't make it sound like he's some pretty face and a coward, dammit! Bakugo shoves his hands onto his hips and scowls as deeply as before while the trio begin chatting with Kise.

"Don't bring me into this, dammit!" If you saw his interview alongside Todoroki, you could've expected that response.

Kise just smiled at Bakugou, giving him his best look of angelic innocence. "But it's true," he said, winking at him. "We met while I was in my underwear."

He did see that interview. Which was why he was teasing him now.

"Getting fitted," he continued, means you lose any sense of shame, so no, it wasn't embarrassing. For me anyway."

The trio left, probably sensing that Kise was going to get yelled at by the hero with a known temper.

And Kise was ready for it. He liked winding people up and getting manhandled by them afterward. He was a masochist, as Bakugou knew from face fucking him many times the night they met.

With them gone, Kise turned that angelic innocent smile back on Bakugou. "They're gone. Better?"

Sucks there's no food or pillow in reach to smack Kise in the face with. "Shut up and get your head checked!" Pointedly not calling Kise a liar for the underwear comment, since it was true... Didn't need to add the detail, dammit!

Bakugo growls at the other blonde when he pushed forward, deliberately trying to rile him up in front of these idiots. "You really wanna get slaughtered right here and now, Copybrat!" Snarled under his breath as he jabs his knee into the back of Kise's thigh. Petty revenge.

Don't encourage him to manhandle you when they're stuck in this shitty venue for another hour! Kise said so himself! If he wanted to break out early, they could've been gone already! Ugh, this asshole!

"You're doing this shit on purpose." Yeah, it's better they're gone, but now he's trying not to blast Kise through the wall. He's supposed to be protecting him!

Kise just kept smiling beatifically at him. "I haven't done anything wrong," he said. "Just telling people how we met. Now, c'mon, there's Aominecchi and Murasakibaracchi already bothering the waitstaff. At least Kagamicchi has some manners."

Not that Kagami wasn't a vacuum himself, but he tried to pretend he was human. And he was getting Kuroko some food too, because the waiters couldn't notice him.

He picked up a flute of sprakling grape juice and took a sip, turning his back to the disposal units in people suits and looking around. "See over there," he said, pointing to a man. "That's one of the members of the Diet, so be on your best behavior if he comes over here. He probably will, because he's a big basketball fan and thinks we're the best chance for the FIBA Basketball World Cup in a few years."

He took another sip, eyes cutting to the door when Akashi finally walked in with Creatie. He looked okay. Still, there was a little niggle in the back of his mind. "So, how many of these galas have you been forced to attend?" he asked Bakugou.

"You didn't have to say shit about your underwear, dammit!" Too much detail no one needs to know! And Bakugo knows Kise did it on purpose; he's not letting him get away with a stupid pretty smile and playing misdirection with his teammates. The blonde snorts in annoyance as he heads for a nearby table to grab himself a drink. Kise wasn't wrong about those guys packing away the food. Given all of them are fucking giants, he's not surprised.

Bakugo's sticking with water, thanks. He returns to Kise's side with a cup, already at his lips until he lowers it, leaving his mouth momentarily shiny until his tongue handles any remaining glaze or droplets. "Don't tell me what to do, dammit." If someone has a problem with his behavior, they can shove it up their ass and die. Best Jeanist, Aizawa, All Might, and Midoriya couldn't do shit to change Bakugo's attitude. Kise isn't even in the running.

"Your team or the Miracles together?" He knows they all go to different schools on different teams (minus Kuroko and Kagami) but they've also teamed up for that international game against the Americans.

"I went to one on I-Island my first year. Never made it to the damn dinner cause a bunch of shitty villains attacked."

"No, I didn't, but I wanted to," Kise said. "Anyway, I'm in my underwear a lot. I've modeled some, and swim suits."

Kise's no slouch in the eating department either, but he managed to have both manners and control when it came to food. Still, he picks any of the finger food that comes his way. He looked over at Bakugou when he noticed the water glass.

"They're serving juices too. The servers know better than to serve wine to a minor." He and the others had tried, Aomine can look older than his age if he's particularly scowl-y. "Anyway, I can and will, tell you to be nice to a nice man," he said, giving Bakugou a cool stare as he watched the Diet member make his way to Midorima.

"The Miracles, plus Kagamicchi and the Uncrowned Kings, minus Kiyoshi since he's hurt. Kurokocchi says it was Hanamiya who hurt him, but I watched that match, and I couldn't see it. I trust Kurokocchi's version of the story though. Hamamiya can be very underhanded. And an asshole." He hummed. "I don't mind the three Akashicchi's friends with, but I don't know them as well."

"Don't fuck with me; I know what you were going for!" Nothing more than playful implications, but Bakugo's not gonna let Kise get away with trolling him, without getting razed for it at least.

He swipes a small plate of hors d'oeuvre and proceeds to skewer it piece by piece with a toothpick. Kise isn't scarfing down a mountain of food, and while Kagami isn't either, the amount of times the big guy keeps going back for food makes it pretty damn obvious he wants to. Sheesh... bottomless pit.

"I'm not blind, Copycat." Honestly, all the Miracles could pass for 21 if they weren't so damn famous. Everyone knows they're age by now, unless they live under a rock. "Che!" He scowls at Kise's retort, but doesn't bother responding. The athlete's the one the Diet's interested in; he has no business talking with the bodyguard. (Besides, who the hell doesn't know Dynamight and his atrocious attitude? At this point, you know your risks.)

"He still hasn't recovered? That injury was a year ago." Given the medical science and what few healing Quirks exist in the world, someone like Kiyoshi should've been able to have it back to normal by now. Bakugo snorts at Kise's mention of Hanamiya before chomping a piece of meat off the stick. "Wouldn't be surprised if that asshole's involved with villains at some point."

"You don't scare me, Bakugou," Kise said cheerfully. "You're a good guy under all that bark and bite."

But he has enough sense not to poke Bakugou's cheek like he wants to.

Kise would argue Kuroko looks more his age than the rest of them. And he doesn't look that much older than his actual age! (Aomine on the other hand, looks the oldest. It was the depression.)

Kise hummed. "Turned out to be worse than he thought. But then, playing an entire season on a busted knee will do that. It's too bad, Kurokocchi really looked up to him, so I would have liked to get to know him better."

Considering that remark, he shook his head. "Hanamiya's an asshole, but I don't think he's that bad." But then, he didn't know the man that well.

The Diet member went to Akashi first, putting his hand on the red head's shoulder, giving it an affectionate squeeze. "Huh," he said, watching until he was sure it was just affectionate. "Akashicchi must be thinking of going into politics." He blew out a sigh. "He hasn't gotten as tall as he had hoped."

"Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight!" He's in costume on a job! Kise needs to call him by his hero name, dammit! (While the rest of his classmates would groan at his childishness and say to either call him "Dynamight" or keep calling him "Bakugo" - screw his rage.) Don't poke his cheek, or he'll stick him with his toothpick.

Kuroko, yeah. But most people don't even notice him, so he doesn't exactly count. Kise still looks like he's a pretty 20 year old with his height and broad shoulders. Bakugo's not gonna believe otherwise.

"Baka." But despite the growling comment, Bakugo knows just how badly someone can want something, where injuries no longer matter. He fought in the First war with a punctured shoulder and torso, bleeding all over, to say nothing of battling in his nigh-dead state during the Final war... "You can get to know him now."

As for the scumbag who did that to Kiyoshi... Bakugo's not even gonna deign him with more time as a topic.

"Didn't he try to stab someone in the face with scissors?" He pops a shrimp in his mouth before checking on his other classmates around the room. They're all still sticking close with their charges.

Kise just smiled at him. "Cute," he said.

Well, at least he doesn't scowl like Bakugou, that'll give him wrinkles, just like Aomine.

(Shit, he totally had a type.)

"You heard about that?" Kise asked with a wince. "Er, well, yeah,, but that, um, wasn't him, per se," Kise said. "Don't worry too much about it. And it was only Kagamicchi he tried to stab." And he threaten to stab himself in the eye too. Which, again, wasn't the Akashi that was here now with them. "It's Akashicchi's business, and he's better now."

Akashicchi's life kind of sucked. Sure he was rich, but with his father... well, he's sure Akashi would rather be much poorer and have a father who loved him instead of treated him like a pawn.

Well, he got a horse, and Akashi loved that damn beast, so maybe that made up for it a little?

Kise is gonna get kneed in the back of his thigh for that comment. With those metal edged kneepads at that! Dumbass. Hmph, he doesn't have any damn wrinkles and his face is usually perma-set in a scowl! Shows how much Kise knows.

(Stop falling for badboys, Kise. Even if he's fallen for half the GoM.)

"The hell do you mean that wasn't him? Does he have a split personality?" Because physically assaulting someone is a goddamn crime and a good hero isn't going to wave his hand and let it fly. Granted no charges were pressed, so it's not Bakugo's business, but yeah, he heard about it. "Psh. 'Only'." Poor Kagami. Akashi gets the pass cause it's just Kagami, no one important. (He knows what Kise means.) Either way, his classmate is guarding Akashi and Bakugo keeps watch over those damn extras. If they're guarding someone dangerous, he wants to know. "Uh-huh..."

Yeah, it's Akashi's business, and he's well aware people can change for the better. But just cause someone has a sucky life doesn't give them permission to break the law. Bakugo won't give people passes for shitty excuses like that. Again, not his problem, it's in the past, Kagami didn't wanna go after it, so he isn't pushing it.

"Nice half-court shot." New topic.

"I... Really shouldn't say, it's Akashicchi's business."

Kuroko he knew shared all the stories about the Miracles with Seirin, but he didn't feel comfortable sharing someone's medical history with someone outside their circle. "Kagamicchi dodged it. We all knew he could."

With a sigh, Kise looked from Akashi back to Bakugou.

"Thanks," he said, beaming. "I was channeling Midorimacchi for it."

Bakugo lets him cut it off there without chasing further. It's Akashi and Kise's business in this place, even if he has his misgivings. So long as the guy doesn't try anything threatening towards Kise, the hero's not gonna do anything else.

"Doesn't change anything." Whether it was dodged, knowing or not, assault was still assault. Kise trying to pass it off as nothing is fucking concerning. Bakugo's willing to let it drop, but doesn't want to return to it.

"Can you channel multiple at once or only one at a time?"

"Well that depends," Kise began, happy to move away from Akashi's split personality issues, "On who I'm channeling. Well, it's not really channeling like I'm using my quirk to tap into them, that's cheating. But I am copying their movements. I can't copy quirks, especially not emitter quirks like yours. But I could copy how you throw a punch. I can't turn it off either, so it's always active. Only thing I can't do is copy how artists do their thing, but I think that's mostly because I get impatient. Instruments though, I can do. I'm killer on a keyboard.

"But combining things I've copied is harder, it requires that I think. And I can only copy things my body is capable of doing. I can't do splits, but I can do back flips and stuff on the rings, but my body is built different from a gymnast's, so even then, while I can do things, it might hurt. Which is too bad because autofellatio looks fun."

He gives his head a shake, he's getting off track. "So I could combine some of stuff athletes below my skill level can do to make new moves, but not above, does that make sense?"

Bakugo's expression flattens when Kise starts running his damn mouth. He wasn't asking for a fucking essay. Interesting to note the guy thinks "copying" movements isn't a form of tapping into their actions, but he gets what Kise is staying. He wonders if Kise ever met Monoma... and decides if he hasn't, there's no reason to subject the athlete to a shitty asshole like that. (It's kind of ironic they're both blondes with copycat Quirks.)

"Copying an artist would be the same thing as copying a musician. All you have are the motions; you can't read music anymore than you can use artist technique." Even if Kise could copy the finger motions of a trumpet, he'd have to do so in the precise order the instrument player did them... and if he could, nothing's stopping him from doing the same of a painter. Despite Bakugo's clipped grump, he's actively interested in the Quirk discussion.

"Haa? You can't do a split?" That's a fucking surprise. He had Kise's knees all the way back to his fucking ears! He could've come on his own face from that position. Even if sucking himself off is... difficult either way. Really kills the lower back muscles.

"If you practice what you copy until it becomes yours, then you can combine it with something else you've made your own."

Kise shrugged. "Well, that's different, as I said, I think it's a patience thing. Because the drawing doesn't come out right right away." He hummed. "And copying a musician isn't the same. It's instant output, just like throwing a ball is."

Kise smiled sheepishly, thinking of the night they met and fucked for hours and hours. "No, my muscles are built that way. I'm pretty bendy, but not that bendy. I guess I should say I can't do a full split."

His attention was caught by the arrival of more guests walking into the ballroom. He didn't recognize them. "Are those hero commission guys?" he asked.

Bakugo eyes him, not entirely agreeing, but without knowing Kise's Quirk as well as he'd want, he opts not to add more. Still thinks it's a similar result. "You're not the only Miracle with a Quirk, right?" Something he'd been curious about as he got to know Kise more.

"Your muscles are built the same as anyone's. Put in the work and you could do it." Time, effort, pain, but eventually success. Bakugo knows some people are naturally more flexible than others, but unless something's fucked up with the ball joint and pelvis, technically anyone should be able to do a full split with practice.

He glances to the new arrivals. "Two of them." Did Hawks send them? This is an athletic fund raiser party, not a heroic venue. Though a number of Class 1-A are here, which is its own draw.

"We all have quirks," he said. "Akashicchi has two. Kurokocchi has a misdirection quirk that's almost always active. Murasakibarrcchi's extra strength and durability." Really, all minor quirks as things go. Akashi with his two could have been a hero if he wanted, but, well, his father probably wouldn't have allowed it.

He looked at Bakugou. "That's only true to a point. My muscles are suited for basketball and running fast for short distances," he grabbed some grapes off a tray walking past him.

He popped one into his mouth, chewed and swallowed. "I don't like the look of them," he said. "They're giving me bad vibes." He doesn't have a future seeing quirk, but he's met enough creeps through his modeling career to recognize bad vibes.

"Two separate Quirks, or a Quirk that does two different things?"

Similar to Todoroki's Half-Cold, Half-Hot. Bakugo isn't gonna knock what Kise considers "minor" Quirks. Not after what he saw Midoriya do with the toolbox of minor Quirks he had in his own arsenal. Even "weak" Quirks can be honed to something impressive if worked on enough or the wielder finds a niche their Quirk fits perfectly.

"Duh. It's how you've trained them." Not everyone could bulk up to be a massive bodybuilder in size, and not everyone's gonna be flexible enough to bend themself into a pretzel. Doesn't change his mind about the splits, even if he drops the topic in exchange for the next one.

Dynamight glances at the arrivals, then turns his head slightly to speak into his comm device. "Oy, Creati. Get a read on those guys who just came in. Contact Hawks and make sure he sent them." She'll know and get the information.
