"Hmmm? Oh, no. Not really." It was more like looking with his heart. He was in love with Aomine, more or less. He was pretty sure he was also in love with Kuroko, and maybe Kasamatsu-senpai. He had lots of love to give.

"Aominecchi is just, really good to look at."

Okay maybe a bit with his dick.

"Really? Huh." Kise feels sympathy for Chargebolt, because the same has been said about him. Ah well, no one's perfect. Look at Bakugou; looks, brains, but his temper... well, if Bakugou's temper wasn't part of his appeal to Kise, then he wouldn't have anything to do with him. "Some people are just born lucky."

"Uh-huh." He doesn't sound like he believes the guy at all. Bakugo would give him shit for talking about being in love with three different people. But they have different definitions of being in love... and he wasn't anywhere near thinking about that kind of sappy crap!

"You've said that before." A lot.

"The guy's still dead last in class grades." And didn't really see a "problem" with that unless Aizawa was threatening him with flunking. He can use all the electricity through my brain excuses that he wants, grades are grades and the result is final. He's heading towards his third year, dammit! If he flunks out at the end, Bakugo's gonna kill him!

"Luck doesn't mean shit if you can't or don't capitalize on it."

"Ah, me too. I try! But math's really hard!"

School's hard! English is easy, so is literature. But History gets hard when it comes to dates, and then math and the sciences are downright impossible because advance math equations are just so difficult to understand.

He manages to pass by the skin of his teeth. Thank goodness 40% is passing in Japan.

"Hmm, I suppose that's true." Kise stretched, losing interest in the conversation about grades. "Anyway, since we didn't get to really catch up before. How've you been?"

"It's not that hard! Memorize shit!"

Great, Kise and Kaminari can talk about how to flunk together. Bakugo makes a mental note to put the two in touch. He isn't gonna say the other hero's a model on Kise's level, but certain magazines and companies have definitely been reaching out. It's more the trouble of electricity Quirks being in so high demand, Kaminari's got... a lot more offers from other places. Places Bakugo's adverse to because they more or less want to use his classmate as a fucking battery.

"Fine. Dealing with missions and classes." 2nd year isn't slowing down any despite the lessening villainy. Lots of repair and recovery efforts. Bakugo's still dealing with his injuries as well, but... his problem.

"It is hard," Kise said. "Formulas, dates, anything with numbers is just hard for me. They slip away like sand."

Bakugou might want to rethink that, because the two blonds would get along like a house on fire. That house being Bakugou's sanity and possibly his stamina. And sperm count.

Kise makes a face at the classes. "Everything seems tame compared to before the war," he said. "Normal feels weird still. I wonder if it'll ever feel normal again." The basketball was good to get back to, the modeling meant he had a stable-ish income again. But after those months of fear and uncertainty? It's hard to breathe and not feel like things could come crashing down again.

"You keep up with numbers in basketball."

From the amount of players to the angle of shots to the score needed to the arch of ball tosses. Likely things Kise simply has filed into his muscle memory and does the mathematical parts out of pure instinct and skill than thinking about them like he'd have to a math exam.

Buddy, if you think he's gonna be hanging around after dropping Kaminari in Kise's lap, you're crazy. Dump - later - leave. Let them wear each other out.

"Probably not." Bakugo's voice carries a heaviness in it hard to ignore. Even Midoriya had to admit there was no way to regain the "normal" they had before the war. People themselves had to change. From simply standing by and watching heroes perform on stage to being active participants in saving and protecting their country, heroes included.

Kise's basketball game with his teammates tonight was one such example.

But too much had been revealed, pulled out, broken up, and shown off. Unfortunately, the ugliness was in the light and needed to be addressed, as well as the consequences and responsibilities of its existence. A long struggle to move forward and chase after the better "normal" they all wanted.

"Addition's easy, it's when you get to algebra and geometry when it's hard. I can't remember what's sine of cosine and tangent." He can add, he can subtract, he can multiply and divide. If put into a word problem, he can usually figure those out too, algebra breaks his brain.

Yeah, that's not going to work. They'll play with each other then track the explosive blond down for revenge later.

"Well, at least we have burgers still," Kise said as they turned a corner and Maji burger came into view. Just about a hundred meters from them. About a thirty second walk. Man he wanted that unhealthy food so badly. It'd make him feel so much better. He'd have to work it off later, but he was young and had a good metabolism, and didn't eat like a horse, so it'd be easy to work off. Just a few extra laps, a couple extra squats.

"It's memorization." Bakugo took to math as well as he did most subjects. But he can understand where Kise is getting tripped up when it comes to algebra. Most people use their calculators rather than try to write sine and cosine out by hand. Still, having that understanding of long form is needed so you can get the theory... "You're almost out of school and then it won't matter."

Good luck catching him while he's in the air, Dumb Blondes.

"Heh, simple pleasures, huh." Bakugo pushes the topic behind him and shoves his hands into his pockets. Yeah, he's not afraid of some good old tasty junk food. Being dutiful to work it off and keep his shape comes easy to him, routine and expected. He pulls the hood of his hoodie up since he doesn't wanna deal with people recognizing him right now. Undoubtedly the attack on the Miracles' gala is already all over the stupid news.

"You make it sound so easy," Kise said with a sigh. "It's not, I've tried." Unlike Aomine, who was just lazy, Kise actually tried to do his homework.

"Simple pleasures are what makes life worth living," he said. He pulled out his phone to get ready to pick up their order. He opened the door, holding it open for Bakugou, if he wanted in, and then went to the counter, showed the receipt for his order, and was given the bag with the burgers and fries, and a drink's tray with their shakes.

He thanked the cashier, and left. "Now to the hotel," he said cheerfully.

"You make basketball look easy. What's the difference?" Bakugo glances at the athlete. Practice. Even if someone has natural skill and someone doesn't, that has no bearing on whether a person can succeed or not. Kise might need a different way of studying math to make it stick. He'll leave that up to the blonde and his teachers to figure out.

"Sometimes." Bakugo's not so proud he won't enjoy a simple pleasure. But there's more than them that make life worth living. He headed into the restaurant, notching a foot back to hold the door for Kise. While the other boy headed for the counter, he hung back and watched. Two famous people getting spotted together would be tabloid worthy.

Back out the door, leaving the cashiers to start whispering about whether that was Kise just now or not. "Check the order before we get far away."

"Well, neither are easy," Kise said. Basketball had now reached a level where it was no longer easy. And if it were easy, he might end up depressed like Aominecchi did.

Maybe it was a good thing he was the weakest of the miracles.

"Yes, yes," Kise said, opening the bag. Curly fires, his normal cheeseburger, and the super spicy burger for Bakugou. "It's ours," he chirped. "And we got plenty of napkins, and spoons in case our shakes are too thick."

The gossiping rolled off him. He was used to the looks, the whispers, the excitement, but still, it was time to beat feet.

"Duh." There are several things which came easy to Bakugo when he tried his hand. Naturally gifted physically and mentally make acquiring new skills less of a challenge to him than other people. But nothing he gained he didn't work for. Even if it simply took him less time. Someone who lives for a challenge isn't gonna be happy with "easy" everywhere.

"The hell do you mean too thick? These people better know how to make a damn milkshake." He doesn't wanna have to deal with a cup of ice cream instead of a proper slurp through the straw. Yeah yeah, looks, whispers, chatter, buncha excited people talking and pointing. Or crowding around and asking questions. So fucking annoying.

Kise rolled his eyes, and decided to let that conversation drop. It was clear that Bakugou was intelligent in addition to being physically gifted, so he wouldn't get it. How sometimes, no matter how hard you tried, and Kise did try, usually passing the skin of his teeth, some people just didn't get things. Kise wouldn't give up on it, but he had resigned himself to not being very smart. At least he was pretty, and that would help him get through life.

"Some places just make their shakes thicker than others," Kise commented. "Kurokocchi loves their vanilla shakes, so I'm sure they're not that thick, but you never know, they might have a newbie on the machine." It was clear that the idea bothered Bakugou, so he was poking at the idea for his amusement. Rile the other boy up some.

Nope! "Just don't get things" has never crossed his path and lived. If he didn't understand something or a rare element escaped his grasp, Bakugo slammed his hand around it's damn neck for a forceful recap. Over and over until he conquered his opponent and stood victorious atop the corpse! Success was ever his! (Now, there are plenty of elements he has no desire to learn or conquer, so they don't count.)

And look, he understands some people are stupid. His best friend has an extra bicep for a brain. Still beat Kirishima over the head repeatedly until he was able to pass his exams. Best/worst tutor, right here.

"Then I'll loosen it up, dammit!" Stirring, leaving out, plenty of methods for softening your milkshake. Aggressively done. Bakugo pauses at a crosswalk, waiting for the light opposite them to flick into walking symbol. "You're not in some shitty motel, right?" He knows Kise isn't.

Well, Kise didn't need a tutor. And he rather suck Bakugou off than study. But then, he'd rather suck Bakugou off than do a lot of things.

"Don't get worked up just yet," Kise teased as they came to a stop. "You can always stick it in the microwave for like, ten seconds if it is too thick for you."

Hmm, that made think about Bakugou taking a thick cock. Like Murasakibara's weapon of mass destruction. That'd be hot to watch.

"You know I'm not," he said. "I'm in one of the hotels Akashicchi's family owns. It's swanky."

Good thing. If he ever wants to ask Kirishima about the blonde's tutoring methods, he'll get some stories. Then again, Kise does get kicked a lot by Kasamatsu, so maybe he already knows about tough love teaching.

"I never get worked up, you blonde brat!" Bakugo snorts in response. Stupid suggestion. He's not gonna microwave his milkshake! Rather stab it with his spoon a few times and soften it through brute force. OWN IT!

"Damn, how far does his family's reach go?" First the gala event, now the hotel ownership. "He's probably as wealthy as Ponytail." Yaoyorozu's family has very deep pockets. Even if you'd never feel put down by her sweet bubbliness.

Kise raised an eyebrow at Bakugou. 'Never get worked up?' indeed. "You sure about that?" he asked, all grins. And stabbing it doesn't really do much.

"Very far," Kise said. "They have their origins to the old Zaibatsu families or something like that. But yeah, they it's mostly real estate stuff and I think some financial businesses. Akashicchi said he was interested in expanding into sporting goods and R&D for computer programs, but I don't think he has any solid plans yet."

He shrugged. "He and Yaoyorozu have apparently known each other since childhood. So they're from the same tax bracket."

"Haa?! You trying to piss me off?" Bakugou shoots a killer eye right back at Kise's face, as if challenging him to try making him angry! (Well, as legitimately "angry" as the blonde usually gets with his friends.)

"Che. Old money." One of those golden children with all the money, status, skill, looks, and more, saddled with a shitty upbringing and resulting in a bad personality. Even if Kise says Akashi is mostly over said bad personality now. Bakugo heads across the street when the light changes, keeping between the blonde athlete and the cars closest to them.

"Ponytail never mentioned him by name." Though she did talk about her friends in the past, and one was an athlete, so perhaps that was him, but unnamed. She wasn't one to brag about her life.

"I didn't say anything, did I?" he asked. This is him pulling on Bakugou's figurative pigtails.

"Yeah, old money," he said. "We're not bad off either. My parents are about as well off as yours." Bakugou's parents are two successful fashion designers and Kise's is mother is a very successful corporate lawyer, and his dad is a novelist.

And they're both going to be rich when they're adults. Bakugou's going to be a top hero, and he's going to play in the NBA.

"He never mentioned her either," Kise said thoughtfully. "I don't know, I didn't really have friends before middle school, and all my newer friends play basketball too, so they come up a lot."

"Che!" It's what he didn't say Bakugo's shooting eye daggers at him for. Good thing he has a road to cross and cars to ensure won't attempt a Kise-flavored rundown.

"Do you still live with them or have your own apartment?" He knows Kise travels a lot due to his basketball games and modeling gigs, but when he's doing neither? Bakugo still lives with his parents, but has plans to move out soon after he graduates from U.A. this spring. He's been looking at apartments.

Of course he's going to a pro hero-- THE No. 1 Pro Hero!! When he firs entered high school, Bakugo wanted to become a hero for fame, glory, wealth, so many things he looks at now with far less importance.

"Friends, huh." Bakugo fell out of touch with almost all his childhood friends. One of them died. (With a questionable fate.) The others simply never followed through on their ambitions to become heroes. He knows this only because none of them are heroes. "They got along well at the gala."

"I still live them," he said. "It's a big apartment and I'm the youngest, so dad would get lonely if I moved out before I had to. My sisters are much older, seven and ten years older, than I am, and are out of the house."

He hummed, watching as the hotel came into view.

"They did. I can see them getting married, I wouldn't be surprised if their parents didn't try to set it up. Akashicchi's gay as I am, but he's still expected to marry well."

No shame there. "When are you gonna get your own place?" Not rushing Kise; he's asking out of curiosity and making some rare small talk as they move.

Certainly not Bakugo wanting to know so he can meet with Kise in his own apartment and really make a mess without having to worry about someone else walking in. Might have to deal with some wall neighbors if they get too loud, but the hell with it. Freedom comes with a few price tags.

"Che. Half-n-Half's probably gonna end up with Deku. They've been getting closer for a while." Yeah, he can see Yaoyorozu and Todoroki together, if he was under any delusion Icyhot was straight. And his parents aren't going to push him into marrying well.

For obvious reasons now.

"Hmm... probably not for a while. When I go to University, it'll be in the US for their basketball programs, that's the fast track to the NBA. I'll be in dorms there until third or fourth year."

That was the plan. He already had a few offers from US schools. Like Bakugou, he has a dream, and is going to do everything he can to make sure it happens. Fortunately, he's very good when it comes to English, so being able to communicate over there wouldn't be hard.

"Todoroki and the green guy?" He hadn't really paid attention to them other than noticing those blue pants pulled tight over the fire/ice hero's butt. "How about you? Any catch your eye?"

Other than him, of course.

"You're going to the US?" Bakugo knew Kagami and his friend went to the states, but he didn't expect Kise would be going there for university. Though mentions of the NBA fit a few pieces into place. Right, they had a faster program with more openings to the league. "I see."

Guess that meant he wouldn't be seeing Kise for a long time once he finished high school. Perhaps it was for the best, considering Bakugo's graduation meant he moved to Pro Hero status full time. Busy with repairing Japan and dealing with straggling villains among All for One's vacuum.

"Uh-huh." There was a lot of history behind Midoriya and Todoroki. Certainly not the amount behind himself and his childhood friend, but no one said you had to get together after this many years of friendship. Besides... never mind. Kise didn't need to know.

"Che. Why'd I tell you? Feeling jealous?" He know he isn't.

"That's the plan," Kise said. "All of us except Kurokocchi, MIdorimacchi, and Akashicchi are planning on it. Even Momoicchi is planning to go to the US."

He hums cheerfully at the accusation of being jealous. "Nah, I'm not the jealous type. You should know that after I told you about the Kurokocchi-shaped love polygon we were in." It was phrased like that; it was more of 'yeah, we all fuck each other.'

"I was just curious. Trying to figure you out."
