[ The flow of feelings has always been a double edged sword. Sometimes it's useful to feel it, because they synch so much and the bond is so deep that it has that lasting impact...but they usually can tell what the other is feeling just by looking anyway. Still, sometimes it's a bit weird to feel anger in the back of his head, and Katsuki could probably do without Izuku's anxiety or bubbly cheer in turn. That ebb and flow is soothing Izuku's frazzled nerves a bit, but he mostly feels tired right now.

It really might be stronger. There's a twofold apology in there now.

And Izuku, of course, kisses back. He always does. Sometimes he freezes for a moment before it happens, but he never fails to kiss back when Katsuki kisses him, even if he's still a little dazed and confused here.

He trusts Katsuki won't let them hit the ground and injure themselves. ]

[That's the main part of synchrony he doesn't like: feeling what Izuku's feeling. While it's useful when he knows the other boy's lying about something, it's more annoying most of the time, having to deal with Izuku's generally much-brighter attitude and giddy happiness more often than not. Pretty sure Izuku doesn't like to deal with the baggage of Katsuki's temper either and he hates sharing those feelings because that's fucking private and Izuku doesn't need to know about them! Lucky, it's not something oft brought up, so... that's something at least. He'd rather focus on the warmth and pleasure than the rest of it.

Except for right now. This is one of the rare times Katsuki doesn't mind the interflow of emotions, wanting to keep Izuku calmer and supported.

The kiss has to break when the explosion kicks them back forward and Katsuki focuses on where they're going. But he wanted that moment to reassure Izuku was safe, was going to be okay, was still the same person with all the memories of them they made together along with the feelings and thoughts they'd shared.

Didn't need words. The kiss was enough to tell him the truth.]

We're not far from the landing site.

[ It would be. Their first kiss was passionate but awkward as hell, since neither of them had actually done much of that before. They learned as they went, and by now they're familiar with how to kiss each other and whoever else. It's less awkward, more practiced. Izuku's kissed Katsuki way too many times not to have it be a completely natural action these days.

When Katsuki pulls back, he just presses his face back to the other hero's neck. Doesn't feel like looking where they're going. ]

Okay. [ He does have questions. A lot of them. Just...doesn't know where to start? How long was he gone - did Katsuki stay behind? Did anything change? ]

[Learned as they went. True, but apparently Izuku's had way more interest in thinking about the things he's wanted to do than Katsuki has! He's never asked about whether Izuku's had those ideas before he got to Noctium or if they all came flooding into being after he arrived. Doesn't want to know...

Katsuki still chooses when and where to kiss and he'll turn away or get ticked if Izuku does it when he's not in the mood. Of course, Izuku's familiar with him enough to gauge pretty accurately what reaction he'll get for a kiss whenever, so his apparent fondness for death wishes is all on him~

He offers no resistance to Izuku burying his face in his neck. There's not much to see anyways. It's mostly white and snowy. Izuku won't get flakes in his eyes keeping his face against Katsuki's throat.

They can ask questions later, once Izuku's had something warm to drink and gets some rest.]

[ Izuku's quiet the rest of the way to the shuttle. Hard to talk over the explosions and storm anyway; he's feeling a little less dead simply thanks to synchrony, but the lack of a shield for himself isn't helping.

His grip's better by the time they're there, but he's still pale and dark-eyed.

But in one piece. ]

[Katsuki doesn't want him damaging his throat from the cold either, so doesn't offer anything in the way of talking as they go. He can't shield Izuku too much with his own suit's shielding, though the arm around him and the other's arms around him are at least helping keep Izuku's fingers and a swath of his torso from being stuck out in the freeze. Especially now with the windchill factor coming in double.

Finally seeing the shuttle is a relief and Katsuki drops down from the sky in front of it, switching Izuku to bridal style carry without so much as asking him. The shuttle's warm inside and he quickly takes him to the back to get him closer to the engines' heat, ignoring the Diamond Guard for now.]

[ Bridal style, huh? Katsuki's never done that with him before exactly but Izuku absolutely won't be complaining. Just clings more closely as he focuses on breathing and taking in that familiar energy. ]

How long was I gone?

[ He doesn't know Katsuki was too yet. ]

[Dragging him in with one arm over his shoulders and making him walk in those frozen shoes would be a pretty shitty hero thing to do. Besides, he wants to make it obviously clear to anyone inside that this was his and no one's fucking touching him without his goddamn explicit permission.

Some hot tea soon passed along gets the exception to that rule and Katsuki works it to Izuku's lips.]

Don't guzzle it.

[The question earns a frown as he focuses on Izuku's attention to the heated drink.]

Three days.

[Since Izuku arrived two days after Katsuki, with both of them being gone for the 1st.]

[ No one is trying to fight him for ownership of Izuku so far it seems. He shuts up enough to sip at the tea, going slow. It's almost too warm against his throat, in a good way. ]

I - I was at home...

[You never know. Medical personnel would be in there trying to get Izuku onto their side to check him over. Katsuki doesn't think Izuku needs the attention, figuring he's only cold and weak due to the storm.

He certainly had time to recover some from his vigilante month.]

Did you see everyone?

[ He's right. The storm, and the abrupt arrival without a manna supply, sapped him. Being curled up in Katsuki's lap helps both those things. ]

Yes. A lot happened...um...

[ He tries to marshal his thoughts. ]

It was only a little over a month though.

[Katsuki stays where he is, keeping Izuku by the warmth of the shuttle's back and making it clear he's not going back out to collect others. He should, but... he's only human. The gems seem to understand and don't pressure him with promises to take care of Izuku. They'll be taking off in a little while anyways.]

Don't think too hard right now. You're exhausted, dumbass.

Sorry... [ The tea isn't being chugged, but it's disappearing quickly. Though Izuku hands it back before it's done. ]

Don't leave.

[Katsuki pushes the tea back, silently telling Izuku to keep it and finish it as he's ready. If it goes lukewarm, he can always heat it back up for him.]

I'm not going anywhere.

[ He puts it on the chair next to them, then. It's not what he wants right now, at all. Instead he shifts in Katsuki's grip, winding his arms around his neck again and settling in closer. He doesn't think he's going to be shoved off right now, no matter how annoying he gets about it.

He feels warmer, but it's hard to offset everything else. There's a surge of anxiety to his usual low level, and there's so much he's afraid of losing. It's only been three days but it feels like longer. Because it was longer. Because he really feels like crying but doesn't want to cry. ]

Promise? [ It's half said against the collar of Katsuki's winter costume. Small and quiet. ]

[Katsuki leans back a little to brace himself as Izuku starts climbing into his lap and grabbing for his neck, making him duck his head so he's not pulled too hard. Yeah, no shoving right now, though the clingyness gets a silent growl and eyes wandering off to the side like he's resigned to 'suffering' through this. Katsuki wraps one arm around Izuku's back to hold him close, the other one left free in case he needs something, so he simply rests it over the other hero's hips for now.

Izuku still feels cold and Katsuki turns him more towards the warm wall beside them. He's sure there's a big fat ugly cry waiting inside Izuku's face, not sure if it's ready to come out yet or not. The guy's holding himself together more or less better than Katsuki expected for him getting back.]

Promise. [The initial want to bite out a "when have I lied to you" or "when have I broken a promise" that he normally snaps at other people, gets halted at his lips. Because Izuku's the only one who can actually reply "No" with a serious expression to that comment. Normally Katsuki's not a liar or promise breaker, apart from obviously sarcastic ones that are fake right from the start and anyone dumb enough to believe him simply had it coming. But in his and Izuku's past...] You're gonna be all right.

Because I'm here.

[ Yeah, their past has broken promises and lies littering the road...but despite all of that, Izuku usually believes Katsuki when he says things. And Katsuki apologized for all of that twofold. Your strength and my weakness - things he never expected to hear from the one person who always looked at him like he didn't belong for the longest time.

There's a wet laugh, but no tears yet. It's probably only a matter of time - he's always a ticking bomb when it comes to emotions. ]

Stealing lines to look cool, Kacchan?

[ Izuku's stolen that one before himself, though. ]

[He's far more honest with his rude feelings now. Though saying something looks like shit when it's obviously not is basically Bakugou speech for "looks good but fuck if I'm saying so" and you learn to speak it after a while. Shut the fuck up about the double apology! That wasn't his intention at all! Damn Noctium...

Katsuki still isn't about to go stroking Izuku's hair or doing more than be a growling guard dog in the face of the guards and slowly-adding collection of newcomers. They're getting the dregs of them now, so it's not like it's going to be a packed flight.]

I always look cool, shitty nerd.

[He leans back against the wall, letting Izuku rest more securely on him.]

You steal it too.

I know. [ About the stealing. Maybe the other part - he doesn't clarify. Izuku's speaking softly, so as to not be overheard, although that wouldn't be the end of the world.

Katsuki's letting him cling in his lap. That's pretty damn soft for him. ]

I have to tell you everything that happened...

[It's not soft; it's logical for this setting. Izuku's half frozen and weak and Katsuki is warm and strong with the heat coming through the wall for help. He can cling. No one's going to look at them weirdly for it. Not like there's a fire going in the middle of the fucking shuttle to huddle around.]

Why don't you do that when you're throat's not thawing out, stupid.

[ Might be logical, but would Katsuki let anyone do this? Izuku doesn't know the answer for sure, but assumes he's getting a little bit of a pass on some things. ]

It's important though. [ Though if Katsuki just points out he has the same memories he'll shut up; otherwise he's going to detail everything. ]

[Unfortunately, despite him saying he'd never let someone else do this, if Katsuki was faced with a classmate of his freezing to death, he'd end up letting them get close for bodywarmth if they couldn't make a fire. But he certainly wouldn't be holding them this close or talking in such a quiet tone.

Katsuki does not point that out yet, nor does he let Izuku detail everything. Because if he tries talking more, Katsuki's going to put a hand over his mouth and give him a firm look.]

I know. We'll talk about it later.

[Now stop wrecking your throat. Have some tea and rest or he's going to ask for a fucking tranq, you stubborn nerd.]

[ He may have to ask for it because it's Izuku and he won't sip more tea while he's stressed out.

His mouth moves against Katsuki's hand, disgruntled. ]

[Katsuki gives his jaw a little squeeze, then lowers his hand, not trusting Izuku to keep from biting him if he's really in the mood. But he doesn't want him to be talking either, so asks one of the guards for another cup of tea. The calming kind.

He looks down at Izuku again.]

Feeling any better?

[ Better... ]

I feel warmer. [ He's not sure about better, although finding Katsuki (*being found by Katsuki) means he does feel a hair less frantic. It helps that Katsuki's still treating him like they're...them, and things haven't changed.

Three days isn't really long enough to be thrown away or replaced but he has some minor trauma there. It's fine! He doesn't need to address it. ]

Are we going home?
