[ They're of the same mind - they understand one another in ways that maybe other people can't. Yuji is starting to realise that, so he lets himself share, unburden himself - he trusts Bakugo to be there and be his own brand of kind, but also to knock him around the head when the situation calls for it.

He's starting to realise he might need that sometimes.

Reaching out, Yuji goes to wipe off that icing on Bakugo's face without thinking too much about it. ]

It was from scratch, but I looked up a recipe first.

[Bakugo has slowly started to realize the two way street between them, one that's been walked more by Yuji than by himself. Granted, he's has less of the traumatic experiences here. Hasn't had to get knocked on the head, though he expects Yuji to do that to him should he ever need it for whatever reason...

But the things they can share... Bakugo should talk to him about that. About losing a teacher, about seeing a friend almost die, about dying and coming back... even if it's not the same as Yuji's version.

Bakugo blinks at the run of thumb across his lip. Then pops the tiger off the frosting and uses it to put a dot on Yuji's cupids' bow.]

I'm impressed. The kitchen's not burned down either.

[Nar har har.]

[ They've been through a lot, the two of them, far more than any teenagers ought to have gone through - and maybe it's made them stronger, maybe it's made them better at what they had to do, but at what cost?

They're still just kids: whenever someone reminds Yuji of that, all he can do is shrug it off and try to laugh.

It's what he signed up for, right?

The push of icing against his face makes him blink, tilting back and trying to lick it off. ]

You're so funny, dandelion.

[There's no maybe in Bakugo's mind. They don't go through those trials, endure them, survive them, and come out the weaker for it. Scars may last forever, their minds weighted with trauma, but they're stronger. Even if the cost is his body, Bakugo's ready to sacrifice that if he has to. But... he intends to be strong enough he won't have to.

Yeah, that's kind of the issue, isn't it? They are kids. Even if sorcerers or heroes, they're kids. Despite Bakugo bristling when someone calls him one.

He scoffs when Yuji tries to get the icing off just by tilting his head and licking at it.]

Look who's talking.

[ Not being able to get the icing doesn't stop Yuji, and he tries again, attempting to lick before - nope, it's really not working, is it? He huffs a little, shaking his head and looking around. He didn't bring any napkins, either...

Yuji ends up wiping it with his thumb, sucking it off after. Sweet. ]

I didn't do anything funny...

[ Did he? ]

[Bakugo ends up laughing at him, short and sweet, but a genuine laugh regardless. He's about to reach out on his own, but then Yuji does it himself.]

You just were.

[He finishes up the cupcake afterwards, tongue stealing off the corner of his mouth to take a crumb+icing combo off the side.

Yeah, that was pretty sweet.]

[ Wow, a real life Bakugo laugh! It's cute!

Wiping at his face just to make sure, Yuji tries not to pout. ]

Was not.

[ But, but!! He goes back to grinning quickly enough. ]

Now that they've met dandelion approval, we should go?

[You're the one causing it, dammit! At least Yuji didn't say it was cute...

The attempt not to pout doesn't help the situation either and Bakugo closes the box up.]

Yeah. We can get good seats if we go now.

[He lazily nudges his knee against the back of Yuji's thigh to prod him.]

Were those blankets mine or are you planning a sleepover?

[ Not out loud... This time...

Shifting, he moves towards the door, waving his hand at Bakugo as it to tell him to quit it. ]

Yeah, let's do it!

[ And, ah, well - ]

They were part of the gift, but I can stay if you want me to.

[He knows the results if he does...

Bakugo follows after him, though doesn't nudge him further. He'll lock up once Yuji's out.]

Sure. We haven't done that yet.

[He falls in step beside the other boy.]

Besides, you need to see how those clothes fit.

Oh, are you gonna do a fashion show?

[ Yuji tilts his head, waiting outside for his friend, arms behind his head. ]

I guessed your size, so we can change them if they're bad.

I'm not walking on a damn catwalk.

[Even if he has gotten one or two offers in his hero career already to do some kind of shoot. He's kept that to himself cause what the fuck?

Bakugo slips his hands into his pockets to head out.]

It's probably similar to your size.

But you'll try them?

[ Yuj is already thinking about how they're going to need to get dinner or something... Hm...

Nodding, he walks alongside his friend, smiling. ]

That's what I tested them against. Our figures are alike.

That's what I said. I'm not gonna hold them up and assume.

[Bakugo's figuring they can go out to a restaurant or get something from the kitchen to make. Though he's cooked with Yuji before, so maybe it's high time they went out somewhere.]

We're about the same height. [Yuji barely edges him out.]

[ He does still have those birthday tokens... ]

It's a little weird how similar we are, isn't it?

[He's free to use them whenever he wants after all.]

Huh? [Bakugo gives Yuji a look.] Why the fuck's that weird?

Well, we're from totally different worlds, but we're fighting similar things, we're both strong, we're kind of the same height and build...

[ A shrug! ]

It's just odd.

[He mulls on that for a few seconds.]

LILITH pulled in a lot of fighters. [To fight kaiju.] It's natural there'd be similarities like that.

[Still...]

Guess I don't mind being similar to you.

That makes sense, you’re right… We’re here for that reason, after all.

[ But… Hey… He grins, leaning over and nudging Bakugo. ]

I don’t mind it either. You’re cool.

Hmph. I'm fucking awesome and you know it.

[Then again, he thinks Yuji's pretty awesome cool, so it's a mutual point. Bakugo rocks a bit with the nudge, but shoots Yuji a middle finger taunt.]

Similarities, huh... You're only a tiny bit taller than me.

Yeah, but I’m still growing! I bet I’ll be really tall in the future.

[ If he lives that long, that is. ]

Not that it means much.

I'm still growing too, dammit!

[Cue a raised fist clenched around a muffled explosion, smoke rising between his fingers.]

[He can't argue the running... if it's pure running sans Quirk and Curse Energy.]

[ The little explosion is more impressive than frightening, sorry, dude... ]
