[ It's weird to think that they're having more and more Christmases together, and that this is the future they're choosing. Yuji doesn't want to leave his friends behind, and Bakugo is the top of that list - someone he doesn't want to live without. Left on his doorstep is a package, and inside are various gifts:
› One of the grenade soaps from tanabata. › A large, fleece lined jacket, in a dark colour. › One pair of leather gloves. › Various candies and chocolates. › Photos of Yuji and Bakugo together from over the year. › A gift card to the onsen where the feral cat colony lives.
Below it all is a note: Thank you, Katsuki, for being my friend. I don't think I would have made it through this year without you, and you're more special to me than I can say. I'll fight to stay at your side. Yuji. ]
[He never thought he'd be choosing this future a year ago. Now, he walks the same path as Yuji, accepting his life here with his friends and those he cares for. With this boy being the most important one. Thinking about a life without the sorcerer feels strange and empty. Thoughts muted by warmth in his chest as he sits on his bed and sifts through each gift individually.
Grenade soap. Tempting as fuck to "throw" it at Yuji next time they're in the baths. Just to be a dick. The sorcerer's gonna see Katsuki wearing that jacket around base most of winter, one of those gloves hanging from his teeth as he digs into his pocket with a bare hand. How much does Yuji wanna bet Denji's gonna be filching some of those sweets? At least he gets to keep those photos of him and his best friend, a few going in frames by his desk and on his bookshelf. As for that gift card... he knows exactly who's going with him.
Reading Yuji's note brings a small curve to his lips, private and personal. He isn't sure he'd have made it through the year without Yuji either. Hopefully they won't have to fight to stay together. But he will as well if it means staying beside him.]
( Christmas is all about a jolly man in a red coat, right? So catch this one prancing past on his way to deliver gifts. Each person Vash knows and cares about gets a gift bag delivered to their door sometime Christmas day. Included in it is a three pack of festive donuts, because obviously, and as much candy as he can fit inside.
Bakugo gets another carving of a wolf, though this one seems to be shooting sparks from its paw. Don't question it. He also gets a bottle of root beer, the normal, non-alcoholic kind, and a little cactus in a pot. It's flowering a single red flower. )
Bakugo,
Merry Christmas. We've lost a lot of people this year, so while I can I want to say thank you for being such a good friend. You're one of the best guys I know, and it's an honour to be able to. I appreciate you.
Love, Vash x.
( Listen, accept it. You're his best friend now. )
[Vash is about 150lbs too light to be the classical jolly red-coated man. Guess he has the prancing part down. Bakugo only has to see the donuts to know who this is from. Mleh, still too sweet. Sitting back on his bed, he takes his time with the gifts and letter, munching on one donut. Denji's probably going to eat the majority of them. Puppy eyes. He doesn't want them to go bad either. Candy will stretch longer.
He runs his thumb along the carved lupine, smirking just a skew at the sparking addition on its paws. A wolf with an explosion quirk. Ha, ha, ha. Cute, Vash. Root beer's in the fridge for later, though he pauses at becoming a cactus parent. They're not hard to care for, but he's never had one to look after before... No, he isn't taking it to the greenhouse; this one is gonna live on his windowsill and be personally tended to.
Vash's letter hits hard than he wants. "While I can" ... Dammit, did he have to say it like that? But they can't escape reality. More and more of them are going home. Does this mean the threat's easing? He decided to stay here, for Denji, for Yuji, for Raidou. Maybe Vash is gonna be included in that list now. He rest the letter on his chest and drops onto his back atop his bed, staring up at the ceiling in thought. As long as he's here, he'll continue watching over Vash. It's what friends do. Right?]
