There's something bittersweet about reading how Bakugou believes in his society. That heroes will do the right thing, that the system won't kill him. He's murdered more people than Moonfish, especially during the PLF fight. Maybe in not as sick and depraved ways as that guy, but he's also a terrorist and a hero-killer.

He'll get life if he's lucky, and then he'll spend it in a straightjacket, quirk-dampening cuffs on and automatic guns against his head 24-7. If he doesn't die from burn hypothermia due to losing his cold resistance, he'll lose his mind completely.

Burning yourself alive sounds a lot less painful. He made his choice when he joined the League and he doesn't regret that.

The only argument Bakugou has towards Dabi's idea on his death is that the heroes never put All for One to death, despite all the atrocities and murders he did. But he has no recourse to suggest anything fairy tale ending either. Perhaps they'll just release the villains and let them deal with people wanting revenge? He doesn't know.

Maybe a villain buddy program, where heroes and ex-villains team up and help deal with others who continue to stick on the destructive path. In exchange for shortening the sentence. Community service where the ex-villains actually get to use their Quirks and see how they can help rather than hurt, given the chance and help to be who they could've been instead of who they feel society pushed them into being, instead of remaining shut away in a dark cell, ignored and abandoned forever.

It's not the kind of idea Bakugou would've had when he first started U.A. Back then, he would've told Dabi off and said he deserved to get splattered all over the wall. But now he'd rather save the guy. One way or another.]

Buddy programs, community service? It's cute ideas, but the government isn't going to spend money on letting villains walk around in the open, even with hero supervisors. Cheaper and safer to let them rot.

He assumes it's more the latter than the former. With Quirk suppressants and other ways of at least knocking the fucker out, it shouldn't be that hard. He's still human. Mostly. Quirks don't act--shouldn't act--spontaneously on their own. But hell if Bakugou's done much research into that.

You know how much it costs one city to house one person on death row for a fucking year? A Lot. Especially when that person is likely doing nothing to contribute to society while rotting away in there. (Granted their removal from society could be considered a contribution, but then... blame game again.)
