[As long as he can get Yuru to locate and give him the street name or another more unique landmark, Bakugou can get the address of the convenience store and plan accordingly. Means he might be late since he had to take the train and it wasn't the most advanced notice. But luckily he can get other things arranged while he's traveling.
It'll be about ten minutes after the meeting time, and a text telling he'll be late due to the above, before Bakugou approaches the guy outside the store. He sees him talking to... uh... yeah. Close enough to figure that's Yuru.]
[Why would someone's tooth be blue? Something they ate? He isn't sure on that, with the bluetooth, still figuring out technology since there wasn't really much of that sort of thing back in the village. Yuru glances when he sees someone approaching, assuming it is Bakugou that had arranged to meet him here. Left and Right glance over, eyeing the other blond and standing a little closer to Yuru.]
Like your phone, but attached to your ear and smaller.
[He's going to have to relate a number of things to that phone and contrast it with more feudal tools to make the connection for Yuru. This guy must've been completely floored when he got a phone and learned of just the tip of what it could do. Bakugou's hands stay in his pockets as he approaches the other guy, not wanting to send his two guard spirits into aggression mode if they happen to have issue with new people approaching. That'd be a pain in the ass.]
Oh? So bluetooth also lets you talk to people not with you right here?
[Honestly the phone is some magic device or something as far as Yuru is concerned. Instant portraits. Talking to people far away and hearing their voice. It is quicker than smoke signals at least. Even if that was what he was raised to do in communicating over a distance. He doesn't figure that this is such a thing but a lot of stuff is making it kind of easy to impress him given what he has been raised being aware of. Left and Right stick close to Yuru but don't otherwise do anything as Bakugou approaches. The other blond hasn't shown any aggression towards Yuru and seems to want to help their Master, so. It's fine for now.]
It's just. So many things are so amazing down the mountain.
Yeah. You just don't see it as easily as the phone.
[Giving the illusion you're talking to yourself if people can't see the ear the bluetooth is on. A lot of people have linked technology with magic, as many magical spells and abilities were once dreams that translated into goals that ultimately fed into the development of different devices and talents. Though there's definitely some lingering elements of people thinking the old ways shouldn't be forgotten, in case the all important electricity goes out...
Bakugou eyes the two creatures on either side of Yuru, wondering just how many people could see them. It's not like Bakugou's ever considered himself "spiritually aware" or much less cared about things of the sort. He only goes to temples to do the new year's thing because it's traditional. Doesn't believe much in the idea of a temple spirit granting him luck on the battlefield. Still... look at what he's seeing right now.
Kind of hard to deny something staring him in the face.]
No shit. Your village is probably 250 years "behind" the modern world.
[Yuru doesn't even really realize. Of course it is obvious things down below the mountain had progressed beyond what he was used to. He simply follows along with Bakugou, oblivious to how the other is noting Left and Right. He's more used to the situation by now. So it is easier for him to simply roll with it. But then of course it might be a little different for him, he's far more used to the village and that sort of upbringing and mindset in comparison to what Bakugou had experienced.]
[Most people don't realize the passage of time if they're the ones inside the passing. Bakugou tilts his head in gesture to get them moving, leaving the previous building behind. It's about a half an hour's walk to reach the nearby firing range. He'd already checked out the location Yuru wanted to meet at and anything nearby. Definitely not a large one, but it'd serve well enough for a first timer.]
So only a few people can see those beasts, right? Not just any random guy.
[That's what Yuru said before, but actually seeing them makes it... harder to believe others can't.]
Yeah. Most wouldn't be able to. I guess I can because I was raised in the village? With them watching out for me the whole time. I just didn't realize until more recently when they kinda...woke up I guess? When we were fleeing. They were statues, before.
[But even in that form they had been watching, listening to keep an eye on things. On him over the years. Yuru is still taking time to try and adjust to things down the mountain, to learn about what people were used to and the laws and rules which were different to some extent to what he might have been used to up till now. Left places a hand at his shoulder when he talks about when they had had to run as the village was attacked. When he had first encountered the real Asa after so long without even realizing what exactly was going on.]
[Or they just came to life. Either way, to have the statues guarding your village suddenly becoming living creatures intent on protecting you would be a shock to anyone not familiar with that kind of thing.
The question earns a brief glance to the side, as if he's warring with himself. No and avoid all this mystical realm stuff. Yes and get himself involved with potentially weird ass shit. Not like he isn't already helping a guy on the run learn how to handle firearms...]
So you can see them? Dera said most people wouldn't be able to.
[So Yuru does seem surprised, if relieved that it might not be as awkward if Bakugou could actually see the other two Guardians with him. He shifts, raising a hand to Left's for a brief moment as he follows Bakugou to the firing range to learn to practice. Just because the other is helping him learn to shoot, can see Left and Right, that doesn't mean Yuru expects Bakugou to get involved in everything going on with him. With his being on the run. With Asa and their parents.]
You know this doesn't mean that you have to get involved with me and everything.
[Bakugou isn't sure what to think about that himself. What, he can see spirits now? That's a fucking layer he doesn't need in his life. As for getting involved, well... Bakugou wouldn't be here if he wasn't involved. He doesn't know what to make of Yuru's situation, but now that he knows about it, the young hero can't exactly ignore it. Especially if this guy doesn't have anyone he can rely on...]
Urusei. If you can't rely on anyone else, you can at least rely on a hero.
[Even if it takes a while to prove to Yuru that he's trustworthy.]
[But then again. It's Yuru. He probably unintentionally still does some things that might attract attention regardless of people being able to see Right and Left. At the least, he looks like a regular teenager since Dera and the others had figured taking him shopping so he could at least blend in more in appearance while he learns the rules and laws outside of the mountain.]
Haa? Well. I'm not about to say no. I'm just mindful of getting too many people involved. I wouldn't want anything to happen because you're helping me out is all.
[He'll have to take Yuru's word for it. It's not like the police were pulling up as they were leaving either, and so far no one's come after them as they travel. Nothing to be done about him acting weird. Some people are old fashioned and that's likely all that Yuru's going to get thrown his way if he does anything that out of the ordinary. Or just be called "weird" or "mental" before other people carry out their day.
And he intends on giving this guy shooting lessons... Wow.]
Che! Don't look down on me. If anything happens, I'll handle it!
I'm not saying you can't handle it. Just. That you should be aware is all.
[Yuru figures if the other's choice is to help and he can clearly defend himself if he has to, then that's on him? He just can't help still feeling bad about the village and all. The people he had gotten attached to over the years of growing up among them even if he knows they lied to him all this time. There's a lot he is oblivious about and still learning, but he is trying to blend in, even if some things are taking time or things he is still ignorant about. So of course it might seem strange, he might seem odd to others that don't realize his situation.]
[What kind of idiot would offer to help someone on the run without being aware the fucking run? He knows there's a risk of getting involved with whoever's after Yuru. If something happens, he'll handle it and win. That's what heroes do. Whether or not the guy blends in is Yuru's issue. It sounds like he at least has a group of people helping him. Plus his spirit partners. Or whatever they're called.
Katsuki stops outside a stone building, the sign out front on a stone stand labeling it as the Raidou's: a shooting gallery. He looks over at Yuru.]
How much do you know about guns in the first place?
They're long range, like arrows are. They're loud.
[And he assumes like with arrows you would never point a loaded gun or bow to someone just in case it did release or go off and accidentally hurt someone or worse. He knows some bare basics in that regard? Sort of? Yuru pauses when Bakugou stops, glancing up to the sign. So this was where the other had wanted to bring him. Some special building to practice in. He's not sure if there might be any issues with this regarding their age, since apparently sometimes people had been saying Yuru was a minor. But he figures it must be okay or else the other wouldn't have bothered and they might go somewhere else, somewhere secluded where there is space to practice.]
Don't point them at anything you don't want to potentially hit. Same theory as bow and arrow like that, I guess.
[Bakugou would've taken Yuru to a more private place, buuut since he doesn't have a gun to use himself, he's going to have to deal with this route. With that, he gestures for the other boy to follow and heads inside. It's certainly your normal shooting range. Booths with padded walls, open areas with targets on the other side, a gallery of guns (unloaded) to look at in their cases, signs and posters talking about gun safety and proper handling or care. Bakugou has a brief talk with the owner of the range, shows an ID card from his wallet, and after a few more minutes of checking and talking, he turns and waves Yuru over.]
What kind of ear protection do you want? Over the head or around the back?
[As long as he has some? Right? If that's supposed to be a thing. Yuru isn't so used to the noise given bow and arrows were more quiet in comparison that he hadn't needed this sort of thing with that. But he does know that it is loud with firing guns in having been around when Dera had fired. He glances around at it all, taking it all in. Noting the posters and skimming the information on them. If there was anything that important he is sure the other would go over it with him. He's just been told not to touch Dera's gun for the time being just in case, that a license for getting one was a big deal, apparently.]
[A license to get one is indeed a big deal, but having a licensed person assisting with the testing firing of one in a protected area isn't as big a deal. Bakguou gets a headpiece from the man behind the counter and fits it over Yuru's head, leaving the arch to cup his crown and the muffs to protectively cover his ears. It's certainly going to sound like the world just got muted and a little stuffy. Bakugou's voice is difficult to hear, but given Yuru's familiarity with a more quiet village life, he'll probably make out more than other people would. But it's good enough. And yes, they've been cleaned since the last person. Bakugou pushes the earmuffs backwards on Yuru's head, causing it to slide down and off his ears before catching round the back of his neck to hang there.]
[Yuru isn't necessarily sure why that would matter necessarily. Beyond the obvious the hand he would hold the gun in. He lets Bakugou help him with the headpiece, trying to stay still to allow the other to put the ear protection over his head. To fit it. Since Yuru isn't familiar even if it might seem straightforward. He figures to just take his cues from Bakugou for now while here, since the other has a better idea on what to do. On the rules here. He isn't necessarily sure he likes the muffled sound of the ear protection but he keeps it on, since it seems important.]
[He's going to appreciate that muffled noise soon enough. Bakugou talks to the proprietor and a few minutes later, he sets out five different handguns, with different grips, weights, and the like. Some are thicker, some are thinner, with varying levels of power and ease of aim as well. It's a little strange to be explaining all that to Yuru, but for now, Bakugou's taking it one step at a time.]
Here. See which one feels best in your hand. [He gestures to the guns, inviting Yuru to pick them up and test them out.] None are loaded.
[He isn't necessarily sure on what exactly to expect. What one might feel best. But he tries them anyway, checking each one in turn and debating, considering which of them he might like to try proper. Holding each up and considering, taking the stance he had seen Dera take with holding his gun up. As if about to fire but never actually pulling the trigger, ensuring he wasn't point it at anyone. He figures to try each one before deciding.
He ends up deciding on one of them. A thinner, smaller one. He's used to a bow and arrow, so something like this is quite different, but he is willing to give it a go. To try and learn. If he isn't keen and doesn't like it, that's fine but at least he knows if he has to, some basics?]
[It's no different, in Bakugou's opinion, than someone testing out any other kind of weapon. A bow, a knife, anything with a handle can "feel" better or worse for a person. Hand shape, callouses, preference in weight or which finger's stronger. Just straight up shoving a gun in Yuru's hand and telling him to shoot isn't the intent here. They've got the time, and this guy may or may not have to rely on a gun for his life at some point. He can prepare him better than that.
The gun's similar to what he figured a bow would feel like. Someone used to having his hand around the shaft like that would probably feel better with this kind of grip. Bakugou nods to the owner, then accepts a box of bullets.] All right. Come on.
[And heads for one of the booths. Already the lane is setting up a paper printout of a target. Just the usual round one. Not starting with a person...]
So just, this trigger part here? Right? Once we figure the -- ah, not arrows. What were they called again?
[Something else. Something smaller. A different name. He only knows some bare basics of guns in having seen them used. He doesn't necessarily know himself. Not that much. But that was why Bakugou was helping him out here. That he could learn now. Yuru holds the gun carefully, unsure on the details on how to load the ammo in. He gets the idea of firing at the targets, seeing others do so as they had to one of the booths themselves. He is still pointing the gun to the floor more, not wanting it to accidentally go off or something just in case.]
[Bakugou sets the box of clips down and opens it, then shows Yuru how to load the clip into the gun's handle. There's a quiet compliment on the guy aiming the gun down, though the blonde nudges his hand so that he's aiming more out in front of him at the floor rather than potentially shooting himself in the foot via accidental discharge. Once he's got the clip in, he shows Yuru how to unload the clip, then has him go the action three times. Load it. Cock it. Aim it. Then pull back and unload it. Repeat twice more without instruction, just to make sure he's got it mentally and physically.]
Don't put your finger on the trigger yet. Put it around the trigger guard for now. I'll show you how to aim next.
[Since that's going to be different than aiming with a bow...]
