HISTORY: Katsuki Bakugo

VICE 1: Pride is at the heart of Bakugo's vices, having filled his head since he was a kid with dreams of success and victory. Blessed with a powerful Quirk and natural genius, he succeeds at anything he tries his hand at; Bakugo grew up being praised and lauded for his accomplishments.

He embodies the positive aspects of pride, as he's takes extreme pleasure in winning in any competition and holds himself to high standards of excellence to secure himself in proving his own abilities. He refuses to settle for anything less than a 100% complete victory, achieving 1st place in the Sports Festival (MHA Olympics) and later taking a 4-0 win against a rival class during the Joint Training exercise. However, this pride does come with a fierce desire to leave no doubts about his victory; Bakugo was so outraged that his 1st place win was due to his opponent's lack of fighting spirit that he had to be chained/muzzled on the 1st place podium to keep from verbally/physically attacking his runner up opponent. Likewise, he automatically attempts to take control of any team activity so that the resulting victory is due to Bakugo's skill rather than be seen as him just taking orders. However, given his power and intelligence, as well as an ironically great ability in leadership, taking control is something he can easily back up.

But as with all pride, excess is negative, and Bakugo's has lead to a massively-inflated ego that's as large as it is fragile. Easily bruised and aggressively defended, he determins to be seen as powerful, smart, and capable, so often hogs the glory in all competitions to showcase his own excellence, and is rudely dismissive of other's accomplishments or worth if they don't rise to those same high standards he holds himself to. As a child, he cruelly bullied his Quirkless classmate, Izuku Midoriya, for being weak; later as a teenager, he sprang a fierce (albeit one-sided) rivalry with his classmate Shoto Todoroki simply because he was awed at how strong the other boy's Quirk was, which bruised his pride; and often ignores or belittles his classmates' for their weaker showing than himself or others in competitions. This largely comes from the expectation of heroes to perform at their utmost, and seeing people doing less than that can lead to a lower view on heroes, something he doesn't want reflected on himself.

While his pride remains as strong as ever, Bakugo has matured greatly throughout the series as several humiliating losses and trials led to a massive amount of self reflection and growth. He still wants to win and lead, but has learned how to operate on a team, trusting them to do what he cannot while he does what they can't; at rare times will encourage or assist his classmates with what they struggle in (via his own gruff methods); and has even shown pride and satisfaction in his friends' accomplishments, albeit not to their faces. His relationship with Midoriya has healed a lot from the past and Bakugo even risked his life to save his childhood friend from death. His role as a hero and the maturation of his understanding of it has finally caught up with his pride.

VICE 2: Wrath is the most visible part of Bakugo's character; his attitude is rude, aggressive, violent, brash, loud, with very little between his calm, stoic quiet, and the resulting explosion for setting him off. This usually comes off as childish and comical anger, which prompts his classmates to tease him for his short temper or mock him just to watch him go off, but it has more serious aspects too.

Bakugo's pride fuels his anger, easily irritated over people bothering him or annoying him because that wastes his time or interrupts his intended goals. Frustration or vexation at a current challenge or even over built-up issues tend to get vented with little provocation at the people around him. Granted, his venting is his way of "fixing" the situation, as it usually comes with a threat/act of violence. Whether it's a video game screwing him out of a victory, or an opponent showing a pathetic display of power during a mission, he's quick to end both those things with an enraged shout and full-force explosion to wipe the annoyance out of his face. Then gets called to the principal's office.

As a hero, Bakugo won't kill anyone out of anger, but he certainly doesn't make it easy for anyone to believe that. His angry disposition once had the public asking whether he really was a hero, or on his way to become a villain, which prompted a group of villains to kidnap him, thinking he would be swayed to their side. (This did NOT go over well for the villains, as Bakugo's pride as a hero far outweighs any thought of becoming a villain.) More positive aspects of his anger show in his displeasure over others being wronged by villains, as it fuels much of his desire to become a hero already. Being a beacon of hope whose intimidating aura and known power cause villains to stop causing trouble simply because Bakugo is alive is a dream he's held since a child, and interfering with that dream calls down his wrath.

While he won't ever admit to someone's face he's angry over an injustice, his willingness to fight to protect others makes it clear Bakugo can and will channel his anger to bring about safety or create that necessary change to improve lives. Like his pride, his wrath hasn't gone away despite the massive leaps in maturity over the series, but is usually played out more for comedy and personality than the vicious bullying and mean-spirited actions he took at the start of the series.

VIRTUE 1: Temperance aligns with Bakugo's pride and determination to become a hero. Since he holds himself to very high standards, he expects himself to be perfect and convey the image of hero who can do anything, most of all, win. Win to Save, in his opinion. But this often means he forces himself to go without.

Bakugo is very self-reliant, not wanting people to feel like he is a burden or that they have to sacrifice something to help him. It's extremely hard for him to accept help or criticism from others: the first one suggests that he's too weak or lacking to accomplish the goal before him, and the second one suggests he's in some way wrong, inciting feelings of failure and losing. Even if it means going without the aid of someone or something that could assist, Bakugo will push on alone. However, his illogical stubbornness isn't eternal, and if he has no other option, then he'll accept it, though usually spinning it as his own idea and the other person is only assisting because he told them to; he demanded Midoriya to be his crutch to help him walk rather than accepting the other hero's initial offer to help him with his injured leg.

In similar vein, Bakugo's model student status sees him going without things that others would enjoy, such as eschewing social outings with his classmates in order to study or train or focus on his own hobbies (also their outing plans are usually stupid, in his opinion) as he doggedly tries to reach the top rank in his class grades. He's not satisfied with being 3rd out of 20... His role as a hero exemplifies temperance, as heroes have to submit to government laws that restrict their Quirk usage in public, unless needed for heroic activities, and obviously do not allow for the lawless freedom villains often enjoy (until they get their butts kicked).

Self-restraint/control isn't always present in his explosive attitude, as he'll straight up threaten someone with death if they piss him off. However, he's never killed anyone to date, despite his voicing otherwise. And though his pride would suggest otherwise, Bakugo does tutor his friend, Ejiro Kirishima, in school, even though the other hero's low grades and boisterous attitude exasperate him to no end. But when the situation is in dire need of it, Bakugo retains himself, especially on missions, and will rein himself in to get the job done.

VIRTUE 2: Diligence drives Bakugo's personality, crystalizing his pride and temperance into skilled and careful work to succeed in any effort or task he's given, if he's personally invested in it. More than anything, Bakugo wants to become a hero, throwing his all into his studies and training to grow stronger in this role. With the drive to never lose and the willingness to sacrifice if necessary to win, his stubbornness to succeed often leaves others astounded at his skill and the results it brings. When battling in teams against the rest of his class, Bakugo was the first on his team to take out six other classmates in quick succession, much to the amazement and chagrin of his teammates, who lamented about being able to do nothing before he was already done. Similarly, when engaging in a training exercise, the building collapsed, but Bakugo refused to evacuate the destroyed wreck until he had returned power to the area (thus protecting his other classmates) and saved the individual they had been sent in to rescue before the collapse.

When Bakugo says he's going to do something, very little can stop him from actually doing it. As a hero, people should be able to trust that Bakugo can do what he says he can do and that he will do it without them needing to worry about him. The notion of giving up and surrendering are nigh-impossibilities for him, as he will fight to find any way possible to claim victory. Even when he and Midoriya were outmatched by All Might in battle, Bakugo already devised a plan to win by reaching the goal instead of defeating their "opponent" for the test. Others attest to his driven spirit, as Aizawa, Bakugo's homeroom teacher, told the public that Bakugo was likely the one student in his class who is trying his hardest to become a hero, regardless of his abrasive attitude and sometimes-villainous persona.

However, this comes at the cost of his own health at times. In his own words, Bakugo doesn't care if he breaks himself over and over, so long as it means he gains the strength to stand victorious at the end of the fight. It's hard for him to stay down once he's awake, making for serious-to-comical efforts to keep him resting long enough to recover from injuries or rest. Even mortally wounded, he refused to stay back and returned to the battle during the Final War despite his injuries. If it means saving someone, becoming a hero, or accomplishing the ever-important win, Bakugo is diligent in his goals, throwing the idea of failure out the window even before it has the chance to settle.

SUITABILITY: Bakugo, first and foremost, is a 17 year old hero-in-training who comes from a series set within the vestiges of a western superhero comic book. My Hero Academia already deals with mature themes such as war, elitism, marginalization, commercialism, good vs evil, stereotyping, death, etc. that requires a good maturity to handle them. Bakugo is familiar with modern technology, as MHA is also set within a semi-futuristic period with technology ranging from cellphones to holograms and advanced robots. As a hero-in-training, he attends a high school for heroes, engaging in classes and missions, though as the series progresses, the stakes get higher and the students end up becoming soldiers in a national war for the stability of their hero society against villains who want to destroy it completely. Bakugo has experienced plenty of hardships and emotions in his journey through the story, so dealing with the themes in 7Dead shouldn't be a problem for him. If there is one thing that may serve as a stumbling block, it's his attitude, and the grumpy manner in which he's against things like role-playing (he outright refused to participate on the day his class was practicing emulating each other). That said, even his stubborn refusal to participate can be eroded if someone strikes at his pride enough to make him "I'll show you!" cooperate. AND once he does end up getting involved, he takes to things naturally, in a competitive sense, wanting to be the best of the bunch. With the different roles given in the Amplitheater will at least let him flex his creative muscles, once he's in there, and he'll do his best. Just expect him to be a little weirded out with the soul-weighing thing... Like, you WANT him to be a judgy prick? He totally will.

POWERS:
Quirk: Explosion - For a more detailed explanation.
Strengths: Bakugo is able to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from his palms and ignite it at will to create explosions of various sizes, ranging from blowing up a soda can to taking down a building at max power. He uses these explosions for offense, defense, evasion, and mobility during battle, and can use them for utility and transportation reasons outside of battle. Bakugo utilizes all aspects of his Quirk during a fight: heat, light, sound, force, smoke, and flame. His Quirk works primarily as a close-range combat tool, but he has developed tactics for medium- and long-range battle. Though he does his best to keep it to a minimum, expect collateral damage during fights with Bakugo.
Weaknesses: Since his Quirk is fueled by his sweat, Bakugo runs the risk of dehydrating himself if he overuses it. While he's mostly immune to the recoil of his explosions, using too many too much can tax the stability of his arms. Cold, dry weather also interferes with his Quirk, as it takes longer for Bakugo to warm up and get going, while wet conditions can limit his "ammo" by wiping away some of his sweat before he can detonate all of it. Finally, since his Quirk factors are in his palms, losing his hands will render Bakugo unable to use hi Quirk.
Other: Bakugo also possesses the typical shonen-manga-esque traits like enhanced strength, reflexes, durability, and stamina, as well as the keen intellect of a natural-born genius.

INVENTORY:
Items: Equipment - For a more detailed explanation.
Hero Costume: Bakugo's hero costume and support gear augment his battle prowess and Quirk to enable stronger explosions and more versatile options in battle. His Grenadier Bracers collect and store his nitroglycerin-like sweat for later detonation, his Improvised Grenades can be filled with his sweat and used as traditional hand grenades, his Strafe Panzer uses his sweat like ammunition in several shoulder-mounted guns, and his Knee Pads are designed with the intent to "kill" if necessary. Both his Grenadier Bracers and Strafe Panzer gear are collapsible for minimalist storage on his costume. While Bakugo can use his Quirk without his costume and equipment, these items were made to augment and enhance his capabilities.
Note: If all that up there still counts as just "one" item from home, then I'll be adding his cellphone + charging cord and a blood-stained trading card of his favorite Pro Hero, All Might.
