[Rgggh!! How bad is it to punch the guy you just went out on a first date with? Really bad? Shit. He'll have to avoid doing that then... even when he really wants to!

Bakugo glowers across the road, then heads for the crosswalk. Because he's not going to jaywalk the street like some hoodlum. There's rules, you know.]

[Listen, Manjoume also briefly thought about punching Bakugou at the restaurant... but that probably would have been bad kosher for both a first date and a guy that he wants to bring home with him after.

Speaking of which, it shouldn't take them long at all to get to where Manjoume is currently staying. Once they get inside the elevator, Manjoume punches the button for his floor before he speaks.]

It's a little plain, but that's just 'cause I haven't really bothered with making it look more personal or whatever yet.

[Too busy thinking about his studies and future career and all that. It's almost funny though when he thinks about it, how over the past several years he's gone from insisting on having the most expensive unnecessary things, to simply being glad if it's a room he can rest decently in.]

[Also Bakugou's been known to punch back. And he's likely got a much harder right hook than Manjoume. But luckily neither of them had the impetus to go full on offensive. They can save that for pillows or something juvenile.

Bakugou stands to the side of the elevator, leaving Manjoume to deal with the buttons, though he's usually the one that wants to push the button... At least it's not crowded in here, which would be fucking annoying.]

Cause you're not here often or just don't care?

[The "yet" seems to indicate it's either, but it's not like Bakugou stuffs his room to the brim with shit. Simple, neat, with his own kind of style, is his preference in room. His dorm room at U.A. reflects that well enough.]

Ehh, a bit of both? Plus I don't have that much stuff these days to worry about interior decorating or whatever you wanna call it anyway.

[Even without his family support, Manjoume was a famous Duelist with multiple marketing ventures. Or marketable appeal. Either or, it shouldn't be hard for him to land himself sponsorship deals and other financial gains.

Sometimes Bakugou wonders if the guy could wrest control of his family's finances back, but knows Manjoume doesn't want to deal with that responsibility either. He's his own person, not just some family-company lackey.]

[He quickly corrects, a little hastily.]

I just don't want to rely on our family's estate to pay for shit like this right now.

[Not until he can prove that he can make it on his own without them. Make enough money to practically throw the money they spent on him for his Duel Academy tuition right back in their faces...]

[Bakugou quirks a brow at the correction but doesn't argue it. Manjoume would know more than him. And he can respect not wanting to rely on his family. That would give his shit brothers something to say.]

Hmph. I see. [He looks around the place as he takes a wander. It's still fairly impressive despite being rather empty right now.] You'll make plenty once you top national tournaments.

[Provided Juudai doesn't enter. Manjoume has a poor track record against him, unfortunately.]

[Given how Juudai has been lately... Manjoume suspects that there is a high likelihood that the other boy isn't going to be entering any tournaments anytime soon, let alone doing any internships or the like as Manjoume has been doing to try to get his career jumpstarted ahead of graduation like this when he's in the city and not at school on the island.]

Of course I will. It's practically only a matter of time before I'll be one of the most well off duelists in the nation.

[Juudai's choices are his own. Unless his friends decide to go grab him and drag him back into wherever with them, he's going to do whatever he wants. Bakugou's not going to advice his boyfriend on how to handle his friend outside of that kind of advice. They had to fight Midoriya to bring him back to U.A. when he went emo rouge.

They'll do it again if they ever have to. 99% never going to have to though.]

Heh. You could even upgrade to a queen bed.

[As much as he would love to fight Juudai for his own "emo rouge" path-taking... Manjoume and his friends have come to an agreement for now to not force dueling onto Juudai. Not when it's been such a traumatic activity lately to begin with. As long as he's willing to be their friend even outside of dueling with them, then that's what matters... or at least that's what Asuka and the others have forced Manjoume to agree with for the time being, anyway.]

Ha ha, very funny.

[As for that tease, that gets Manjoume to roll his eyes in response as they step further into the room a little here... now that Bakugou's here, how should he proceed now? What are you supposed to do with a guest, again?]

[Bakugou's going to leave them to dealing with Juudai. They know him more and it's not like they aren't aware of what it might take to get their friend to pick up again. Trauma's trauma. Some people take more time and action to get over it, or at least learn to live alongside it while going forward. Though Bakugou and the rest of Class 1-A didn't have the same thoughts towards Midoriya. They knew he wasn't going well out there and were determined to get him back.

Even if it meant doing it the hard way.]

What do you have? [Normally he'll stick with bottled water or juice, but tea and sports drinks aren't off the menu. Soda's usually a "mood" drink for him, as he doesn't grab one as instinctively as some of his friends do. Bakugou takes to exploring the place so Manjoume doesn't have to stand around and wonder what to do like a hapless host.]

Coffee, tea, water... oh wait, I'm pretty sure I've got a can or two of soda or juice in the fridge too.

[Manjoume is now walking over to do just that, opening the door to his fridge to bend over and look for where it was in here that he last remembers seeing those as he continues speaking...]

You can sit wherever you want, either in here at the table, or on the couch in the living room...

[Coffee at this time of night is disgusting. He's never liked the crap in the first place, and he's seen what it does to people who drink it during the evening. Either hyper as fuck or they crash like they got drugged.

Bakugou pulls out a chair at the dining table and takes a seat. They can go out to the couch later. He's looking around Manjoume's kitchen since he's got the opportunity.]

How long have you had this place? Thought you were at the school dorms.

[Juice it is, then. Manjoume manages to find it, and brings it to the table for Bakugou as he answers.]

Normally yeah, I am. But recently I had gotten involved in an internship working for Edo Phoenix so that I could gain more experiencing in becoming a professional duelist after I graduate. While I'm doing that kind of stuff, I needed a place to stay during the time I'm here in the city, so here we are.

[However, at the mention of Phoenix, he makes a slight face--clearly, he didn't enjoy the time he spent with that guy in particular.]

You're pretty close to that guy. He better be treating you with more respect than he did.

[Bakugou watch any of those duels out of pure respect for his boyfriend, unless Manjoume vetted them first. But he knew that hadn't been the greatest time in his life for the other young man.

He takes the offered juice and twists the cap off with index and thumb while gripping the bottle with his other three fingers. Power move.]

There should be a lot of companies willing to host you once you graduate until you get your own agency.

Oh yeah, of course. Working with Phoenix himself may not have been an ideal experience, but it did get my foot in the door all the same, and get a few sponsors at least considering the idea of working with me regardless of whether or not they care for my family name. So... I do have a couple of options to look over once I graduate.

[There's still some sponsors that he had been given rejection letters for solely because they either despised or were afraid of the Manjoume Group potentially paying them too close attention, regardless of how Jun decides to be about his relationship to his brothers. But there were others that have called and said they would be interested in speaking again after the graduation ceremony, so he has to take his bright spots where he can find them here.]

After the shit you've done, people should recognize your name for who you are, not your damn family.

[Bakugou hates how Manjoume has to live beneath the mantel of his family name despite the feats attributed to his own success and skill, but it's honestly no different than Todoroki having to live with his own family name too. Even if Endeavor is coming around, the damage Dabi did to his name and reputation are undeniable, Dabi being a product of Endeavor's dark history. But Todoroki and Manjoume haven't given up despite their heavy names. Bakugou respects that about them.]

You could just strike out on your own. What about the North Academy? You hold sway there too.

True... ah, but so does Johan Anderson, and he's already considered the golden boy of North Academy being vouched for by the creator of Duel Monsters itself, or however the rumors go these days.

[He vaguely remembers hearing that Pegasus allegedly considers Johan somewhere in the top five of who he believes are the current strongest duelists in the world right now. Although...]

Then again, I haven't spoken to that guy in a while, so I don't know what his plans actually are after graduation, and if he plans on pursuing a professional career as well or not.

[Actually, he doesn't talk to Johan much at all if he really thinks about it. Especially not since the alternate dimension... it always feels awkward trying to strike up a conversation with the guy.]

[Granted, he knows Manjoume is trying to figure out what to do, but the sound of his boyfriend putting someone else ahead of him in this area grates on Bakugou's nerves. Manjoume's certainly come a long way from the arrogant egotist he was at the start of high school, but that's no reason to pedestal another person!

He leans back in his seat, sipping at the drink in his glass. The strongest duelist is a title so many vie for, but only a few get. Even he's heard of some of legends, from Yugi to Jounouchi to Mai. Kaiba's the world's biggest prick, so fuck him.]

If you're unsure, team up with the guy and go for a joint running.

[Heroes team up all the time and two of the top duelists together could easily get sponsors and whatever else. Might even incentivize Juudai.]

[Manjoume sits up a little straighter in his seat at that, scowling with distaste at the other's remark.]

Fuck off, I'm not making excuses. I'm simply stating what obstacles there may be; they're the ones I plan to tear down with my skills, and with my name as Manjoume Thunder being remembered and spread by all after the fact.

[... Don't say that comment about Kaiba though, that will annoy Manjoume as a guy who undoubtedly looked up to that guy in particular more so than Yugi growing up. Still, he will concede one thing...]

That said, it's not a bad suggestion. I'll see what he says if I make that kind of offer to him.

[Good. He would've been disappointed if those words hadn't prompted any reaction from the duelist. Bakugou lowers his drink and fixes Manjoume with a steady gaze.]

Should've gotten a recording of that. [Just to play back to him if he ever becomes despondent over something.] A lot of heroes join another agency when they graduate, or team up with other Pros or upcoming Pros.

[It's not uncommon and a good way to get yourself off the ground, not to mention avoiding getting caught in the water with too many options to pick from and no route to go.

Kaiba's still a prick, even if some people look up to him.]

[But the duels involving Kaiba during Battle City were the coolest ones, regardless of him being a prick. Or so Manjoume would argue, perhaps.

However, that's neither here nor there, and Bakugou will be spared any potential Kaiba simping for as long as he doesn't mention the guy out loud.]

Speaking of heroes, remind me again what your plans are after graduation. You do have some idea of what you'll be doing, right?

[Except the ones that happened on that blimp were... a bunch of fucked up that a lot of people did not see because they were all fucked up? Plus it and an island EXPLODED at some point? What the hell happened in Battle City?

Well Bakugou's a simp for All Might, but he's usually way quicker about putting a naysayer in their place. Violently. Because that's what heroes do! ... No they don't.

I'll be working with Best Jeanist and Edgeshot until I'm stable enough to start my own agency.

[However, there's a big Deku-shaped pendulum that could derail that at any given time...]

[Manjoume thinks he remembers seeing those heroes on TV a few times, but unfortunately didn't remember their names very well.]

[Bakugou mentored under Jeanist for his first internship (which he considered mostly a complete waste) but came to respect the man for a few reasons. Especially during the war.]

I have two other options, but I'm waiting to see what they do.
