[Katsuki glances at him once after a few pointed seconds have gone by, and then sighs before dropping the towel completely and stepping into the bathtub. Well nyeh to you cause now he gets to stretch out along the bottom and rest his back on the sloped side.]

Then I would've had to carry your unconscious ass up the stairs once I was done.

[ Katsuki can stretch out if he wants. Izuku ends up getting in a minute after, trying to take up less room himself... ]

[ And just like that, some of Izuku's tension flows away as he leans back into Katsuki's chest. He is dumb, but as least he's calming down a little now. ]

[Glad he recognizes that. Katsuki purposefully avoids his hands going anywhere near the other boy's gem, focusing on dumping water on his shoulders and lower chest instead as they sink in the calming back.]

[Mostly because he doesn't want to get sick himself and certainly doesn't want Izuku to stay sick longer than he has to. A sick roommate sucks.]

[ He did not, actually, know that. He knew Katsuki wouldn't let him die, but sometimes he's not sure how far the taking care of him thing goes or stops. But Izuku takes him at his word - it's not like Katsuki's prone to lying about what he's willing to do. Not in this direction, anyway. If anything, when he lies about what he'll do he claims he won't be willing to do x y z but then in fact does it while bitching. ]

I know you won't let me die. [ That trust is implicit. ] But...sometimes I'm not sure how much of the other stuff you're willing to do. I don't want to overstep.

[He will in fact most certainly do this while bitching. The main reason he's not dismissing Izuku's question about taking care of him if he gets sick is due to the other boy's current state. A year ago, he wouldn't have given a shit, but now, Katsuki's starting to recognize when Izuku's more vulnerable or at a limit, and knows when to back off on his teasing or irritable denials. Better to keep silent or give a surly truth than cause Izuku to get out of the bath and go huddle off in his bed miserable over something Katsuki said. That's not how he wants the night to end.]

I'm not gonna carry you around the damn house if you go break your leg doing something fucking stupid.

[ It's not an entirely serious question. It's actually said with a certain level of distraction - that half there tone Izuku gets when he's trying to mentally organize his thoughts without the benefit of murmuring them aloud. Like there's something brewing, a thought he hasn't quite finished but is turning around and around. ]

[Well he did demand Izuku come be his damn crutch that one time. And despite that question not being serious, it could obviously happen. Mr. Fuck My Body Hero could easily come back with a busted leg from trying to rescue someone and they'll be out a few days while it heals. So question is... whatever Izuku's thinking in his head.

Katsuki lowers his mouth to Izuku's shoulder, leaving it against his skin as he exhales and then speaks into the round of his joint.]

[ He's just trying to figure out how to say any of it, or if he should, or if he needs to. That answer eases some of the tangle, although he suspects even if he does something dumb and breaks a leg Katsuki won't leave him completely adrift - if only to keep Izuku from making it worse.

His head is relaxed on Katsuki's shoulder, so he can sort of see his face from the corner of his eye. But he's not looking that hard, eyes half-lidded. ]

If I ask you to stay if I feel shaky again after, is that okay? I mean, um - it's different from asking you to stay a while just because. I think.

[He's got that right. There are very few times Katsuki will abandon someone who is seriously in need of help. He's a hero after all and refuses to let himself deviate from that path. But he's also not a merciful hero and is annoyingly insightful so won't waste his time on some sap trying to get a free ride or some moron who hurt themselves doing something they shouldn't.

Izuku's not THAT kind of moron. He won't seriously injure himself without a just and reasonable (in his mind) cause. At least Katsuki can trust him on that.

His head stays bowed, resting mouth on the boy's shoulder as much as Izuku's resting his head on Katsuki's own. It's... comfortable right now, holding his partner between his arms and legs in the heated water.]

Yeah. It's fine. Though I think the next time we do this should be in your bed.
