And yes he's watching for Blackwhip! He knows just how much Deku loves that Quirk and he's trained with him A LOT to learn how to control it, meaning Katsuki knows how to deal with it and see it.

He can practically predict the areas Deku'll come at him with it based on his position, directing he's facing, and how long the battle's gone on.]

[ They've been training too long...anyway: that whip comes up from below for his ankle along with kelp? While Izuku does a water attack above with way too much force. ]

[Below-- wait above?! Katsuki's caught in the middle. Oh fuck!

It's like someone went ACHOO and fired him out from the middle, letting blackwhip and water smash together where he used to be.

Izuku yelps and drags them both up out of the water with float, although he thinks Katsuki might be immune but -

Well, lightning when it hits water kind of causes electrocution so he's trying to avoid that? ]

[Sucks to be you in the water, Deku. Katsuki does yelp when he's dragged out of the water, but quickly detonates another explosion to clear himself of Izuku's range.

Going to get some distance and set up an AP Shot to the butt.]

[ He's getting out of the water! To...hm. He'll jettison himself to shore. He doesn't want to be electrocuted and doubts Katsuki's going to worry about that (can fish be electrocuted? He has concerns :( ) ]

[Katsuki's already heading that way via a harsh explosion. only takes one to make it and he lands on his feet, skidding a bit in the sand like an action star.

Lightning strikes the ocean and doesn't light up the whole planet. It'll be fine.]

[ This knowledge will not stop him worrying about innocent fish in the area, it is simply a dumb concern he is going to hold close to his heart.

He DOES release smokescreen as he goes, coating the beach area in the Quirk rapidly. ]

Katsuki already predicting the new Quirk and by the time Izuku gets to his feet to pump it, there's a fireball screaming at his face.

[ He is only concerned about the fish and he'll forget about it soon because...well, bigger concerns.

He can dodge that, amping up the smoke even though neither of them can navigate it - but with his own vision blurred he has to rely more on other things.

Like danger sense.

Using a blindfold is an option he could go with but this way it isn't just Katsuki wailing on him constantly as he tries to feel out with that unseen limb. ]

[Damn right he will! Katsuki's not about to let him get distracted from their fight by something as stupid as fish! If he shocks some dead, they can gather them up and take them back for dinner. There! Zero wasted deaths! EAT THEM!

Katsuki cusses under his breath as the smokescreen goes up. Okay, there's one things he instantly knows about smokescreens and that's, if you can't see in, they can't see out. Not without goggles that see different scans.

What he does he jump free of it, backing out of the smoke until he bursts from the cloud and lands on the beach elsewhere.

All right... Fuck, that's a big cloud. If he makes enough, he could cover a city block with it. Izuku has Danger Sense too, to help avoid incoming damage. And Blackwhip to long-range strikes. Float means he won't be tethered to the floor either.]

[ At least breathing it in doesn't seem to damage Izuku...? But yeah, he's trying to track Katsuki solely by Danger Sense, not going for any strikes yet as he tries to angle himself towards the other boy.

Where does it feel most like...? ]

[Yeah, I got questions about that smoke breathing... But maybe it's how it takes Katsuki's blasts a while to affect him. Who knows. Anyways!

Katsuki's standing still, watching the smoke. If doesn't actively attack Izuku, then Danger Sense shouldn't target him. He's still not sure about Danger Sense. Because technically, Katsuki's not "dangerous" to Izuku. Not anymore. (Unless he still has some deep-seeded reflexive PTSD regarding Katsuki and associating him with pain and danger.) So if they're just sparring, it shouldn't go off.

But if he aims and AP Shot into the cloud...]

[ At the basics? Yes absolutely. But the fourth could use it to avoid the non-lethal attacks of the fifth, so it's more a matter of nailing down the sense of attacks at all. No attack at all will of course circumvent it since there's nothing to do about it...

Though there's a huge strain using it still. He gets better later from his canon point but he's still fumbling now.

AP Shot he can sense, though. If Katsuki fires one off he has a direction, but doesn't attack - dodges to the side to get a different angle and sends black whip out the OTHER side of the cloud as a decoy...

So he can attack from this other side. ]

[Katsuki does fire it, but has no expectation or even intention that it will hit. It's to make Izuku move and force some kind of reaction out of him. The best Katsuki can do is punch into the cloud, but going inside himself is a fool's decision.

The main issue is, Katsuki's expected both decoy and motion, so he's back far enough that he can see the entire cloud in his vision. Well, maybe not he entire cloud, but enough a sweep from left to right won't take long.

Something snaps from the side and that mass of black he instantly recognizes as Blackwhip. Meaning Izuku's coming out from another area. Above, the other side, behind...

He'll listen. If Izuku wants to get in close and hit him, he'll hear that. But if he doesn't, then he's probably aiming an air shot at him...

Katsuki shoves backwards, bounding away in a jump as he charges an explosion in his hand.]

[ There's always an explosion coming, but Izuku's half distracted, half focused - he does try to land that kick, but if he doesn't he backs off a bit, muttering to himself.

Analyzing what he needs to do next...training wise, he thinks he has an idea for a new "game", but probably Katsuki won't listen to that until they're done - which is fine with him. ]

[He hears and feels the "whump" of a foot past him, landing in the sand, but he dodged the kick regardless, putting the needed distance between them.

Straightening up again, he regards Izuku with some speculation. So far, there's no defined limit to the smokescreen... so that's something he pays attention to.]

[ Only limit is his energy and manna...so that's something he's trying to keep tabs on, although he circles back to see what Katsuki does this time... ]

[Katsuki's not privy to that information, minus the manna, so he's assuming he can just go and go and go. Until he runs out. Of what. Manna likely.

He's judging the size of the smoke cloud, but keeping an eye on Izuku in case the fucker decides to jump back in there.

Although... Katsuki hauls a rock off the beach and tosses it a few times.

Then slams it off towards Izuku, complete with explosion fueling the speed. Rocket Rock.]

[ Considering Katsuki has done ice snowballs before this isn't too shocking.

Izuku dodges that one, snaps out Black Whip to maybe try to knock it back? ]

[He fights to win. If you can't handle ice snowballs, you shouldn't be outside your fucking house. (He pegged Izuku with so fucking many of them for no reason...)

Katsuki sees the rock go by, blackwhip snap out to grab it, and yep, the rubber band Spider-Man 3 sling of rock at him gets him dodging to the side.

For all Izuku's Quirks, he finds Danger Sense to be the most fucking annoying... Doesn't help that One For All augments Deku's speed and reaction time.]

[ Was the reason liking to see Izuku yelp and cry, because...

Well, he doesn't do that anymore. He just accepts it as a Katsuki tactic and does his best to adapt to it. ]

Kacchan, what's the win condition?

[Yes. So he'd know he wasn't special and didn't deserve to be "safe" with the normal people. Those kinds of bully thoughts.

Now he knows that rock likely wouldn't hit Izuku and is more gauging his reactions and how he operates with his Quirks. Bakugou knows blitzing Izuku isn't a smart thing at the moment. So he's studying him first. Figuring out counters for multiple opponents wrapped in one person.]

None. This is exercise, not a competition.

[Without All Might here, Katsuki's somewhat slid into the "coach" role alongside his "sparring partner" position.]

[ Honestly, it's surprising to hear it's an exercise but Izuku won't argue the point. Just brightens up and - ]
