[otherwise denji's going to be in very hot water! or more like hot air. katsuki's already bitten a chunk out of the ice statue someone else made. cause it was fucking delicious in all this heat. really though, if denji wants to spoon with an ice sculpture of him, so long as the blonde's in the room (and doing something else) it'd probably be fine. let him have his comfort. actually, he kind of wonders what the half-devil's tolerance for temperature is. he can handle being set on fire, but straight up frozen? hm... maybe they won't have to find that out in the middle of battle.
oy, people are gonna get a bunch of denji plushies in the future, you know. (it's fine. not like those plushies were made to give people boners over denji's attractive face.)
despite katsuki's horrible attitude most of the time, he's empathic enough to understand people's feelings. even if he chooses to ignore them plenty of times. denji didn't give him a speech, yet conveyed his feelings in those few words, enough to strike home and make the depths of them visible. he knew the other boy liked attention and comfort, being in the presence of people he cared for, but hearing him place their time together, the nights they slept together, in the value of safety, is what finally coalesces it into a real convincing. it won't be every night; life will see to that. but it will be all the nights around when life isn't getting in the way. good thing they're so damn close in everlight.
don't high-five yourself over that! ugh, what a kid sometimes. katsuki rolls his head to the side and looks at the clock on his desk. guess he'll be seeing less of his own room at night now. unless he demands denji come over to his room. whatever. so long as the guy's willing to put up with katsuki's high standards, this is fine.]

[oh he'll come see the ice cave at least, but hell if he's going to sleep in it and wake up to water dripping on his face and a soggy freezing floor to his feet in the morning. no thanks. once denji does some trial runs on how much damage the melted ice does to his room, then katsuki will reconsider. the ice cave that is.]
